It looks more and more awesome every time I see it - so much atmosphere and detail. The gunplay looks nice and punchy too. I just hope my PC can handle all those shiny graphics without setting on fire.
Time for another replay of the first two games, methinks. I should probably get around to finally reading Metro 2035 before this comes out too.
I have read the book metro 2033, when the game came out. So certainly a few years ago, perhaps i should read it again and pickup the other books.
This year i am going to get myself a new pc, so that i can play the upcoming games in their full glory.
I enjoyed reading 2033 (2034 not so much, but I guess it was alright), but since that was about 5 years ago now my memory’s a bit fuzzy - especially since the events of the books and games are a bit…inconsistent. Last Light has pretty much nothing to do with Metro 2034, as far as I remember.
It looks like it will be a hell of a lot of fun.
While I’m not too enthused about the massive amount of crafting elements shown I’m sure it will also open up a variety of gameplay options.
Here is hoping the final release will be as up to snuff as the teaser.

A new gameplay video from gamescon
Less than one week to go before it is released. I bought it just in time before it was pulled from steam and went exclusive on Epic store. With my new system I can play it in all in full glory.
A sticker to cover up Steam on the collector’s edition.
Are we talking bethesda level bugs?
Played around 2h, taking it slow, listening to every conversation, talking to everyone (there is a lot of optional interactions with other characters and things to explore in open world). I am still in the first open world zone. So far no bugs. The game reminds me as a mix of metro and stalker.
Generally really liking it so far, gun play feels better than older metro games, atmosphere is still as good as before. But there is also a lot of scripted parts where they remove control of your character as same as in other metro games (didnt like this before, and dont like it now also). I like that there is less time pressure where I can explore the semi open world as I dont need to have gas masks on non stop, but I am still on beginning so cant say a lot until I progress more in the game. Visuals are excellent, but requirements are also high.
At the moment like it a lot more than other metro games.
Those kind of bugs won’t get even defeated by strongest and effective bug exterminator teams.
So, a friend of mine bought the game for me to finally make me shut up about the wait for FG…
Just got to playing and damn, it is good.
So far, my only complaint is that the monsters in the game are making me want to hug them instead of shooting…
The game looks good but the map seems a bit empty. I am in the Caspian Sea currently (desert map). In the previously versions, which were more linear but looked more rich and detailed above ground.I have to see how other area’s are looking.
I do dislike that you can’t open doors by just pressing. The animation is slowing you down. I do play stealth style for achievements but it’s really unrealistic in such small buildings. You can turn off lights and can knock people out and no one noticed it.
Of course there are also very good elements like day and night cycle. Crafting and more free roaming.
Ok… completed the game.
I do agree that for something “open world”, there isn’t really much to actually do. Linear might have been a better choice.
I hate the karma system also. Like, someone shoots you with a crossbow and you hate the guy who has been nothing but a good friend to you simply because he killed in self defense, some people who would have gladly killed you both? The radiation indued hallucinations made more sense than that.
And the game felt too short, even with the exploring and stuff. I was hoping for another Witcher3
But other than the above, it was still pretty fun. Now the only problem is that I don’t have anything to do while waiting for FG to drop…
Metro exodus was really a great game, I loved it, the story was nice and the half open world aspect was nice as well.
loved it aswell, have a few minor bugs but nothing too bad
