[MOD] Compact build compilation for DAIL

The purpose of this thread is to, hopefully, provide a simple list of compact build information to provide mod devs some feedback. We will be using the latest DAIL version and masteries that are technically broken/incomplete should not be used even if the skills are viable. Finding out skills that are inherently overtuned without any help from other masteries is top priority in order to address balance issues.

Why do this instead of making people put out build infos in seperate forum threads?

Since we don’t have a proper “Modding - Classes, Skills, and Builds” and I doubt that we will have one, we can only post builds in a subforum meant for general discussion. A compendium of sorts avoids a large number of build posts from burying the actual modding discussions.

Why not provide the info in their respective mod thread?

We can only provide incomplete feedback along with a high chance of people ignoring the post in thread replies. Build lists are much more engaging and with a compact format makes it much easier to discern the problem that are present in a mastery and makes for a very unified source of feedback especially when pairing mastery/balance/gear mods together.

So you’re basically copying the compendium?

Not exactly. The compendium links to full build guides that require an entire thread. Since Mods are a hard thing to fix/balance especially DAIL, and since we don’t have a single thread that provides feedback and where the mod threads themselves are for bug/glitch/problem reporting, feedbacks are most likely to get buried/dismissed. This aims to create a list of compact build information and feedback for developers and players.

How about uneven gear?

T6 gear (at least either one of the Armor set or Accessory set) from DGA is recommended when testing out builds as this gives the basic stats needed without being close to the damage that full Ultimate gear can provide, also giving us a great deal of resistances and the very important +3 or +6 to all skills for masteries without their respective +# to all [mastery name] gear. Notable gears such as dropped affix legendaries, good epics, etc. are to be mentioned.

How about builds that have/require Omega Buffs?

Include that in your post if it really does need one to function.

TL;DR: Post your compact build information here + some feedback. The second post will be me compiling the builds in an actual list linking them to their respective reply posts.

My build as an example (You can also use your own format if you want especially if it’s much cleaner/easier to read):

[DAIL 0052 SX] Ranger (70) + Fangshi (60) - 2H Ranged | Tri-Elemental Pierce Acid |Classes from cftx’s mod

Skill Tree:

Character Stats:
Notable Gear:
Devotion List: [ul]
[li]Hawk[/li]
[li]Falcon[/li]
[li]Manticore[/li]
[li]Affliction[/li]
[li]5 points in Blind Sage[/li]
[li]5 points in Abomination[/li]
[li]Hydra[/li]
[li]Kraken[/li]
[li]Chariot of the Dead[/li]
[li]Viper[/li]
[li]Harpy[/li]
[li]Viper[/li]
[li]1 point in Revenant[/li]
[li]Green Crossroad[/li]
[/ul]

Feedback/Remarks: Fangshi’s combined 4 or 5 Signet bonuses along with its procs are massively good, perhaps an overall nerf is needed towards their procs and bonuses? As for Ranger, Uncanny Dodge is basically a better Pneumatic Burst. Homicidomania and Suppression Fire (to a much lesser extent) bonuses are pretty high and perhaps nerfing how they scale towards ultimate skill levels might help otherwise most of the Ranger’s skills are fine.

AoE due to pierce + a large amount of projectiles and a ton of procs is amazing.

Don’t have Augments, a Relic nor a good medal yet, don’t know how large of a boost they will give. Character was able to clear SX ultimate, reflects and acid pools were the only dangers.

[Reserved for List of Builds]

Another example:

[SX] Fangshi (70) + Elementalist (50) | Tri-Elemental Pierce | From cftx’s mod and from Ceno’s Zenith

Skill Tree:

Character Stats:
Notable Gear:
Devotion List: [ul]
[li]Lion[/li]
[li]Panther[/li]
[li]Owl[/li]
[li]Hawk[/li]
[li]3 points in Rhowan’s Crown[/li]
[li]5 points in Manticore[/li]
[li]Blind Sage[/li]
[li]Scholar’s Light[/li]
[li]Chariot of the Dead[/li]
[li]Spider[/li]
[li]Viper[/li]
[li]Oklaine’s Lantern[/li]
[li]3 points in Behemoth[/li]
[li]1 point in Ulzuin’s Torch[/li]
[li]Red and Yellow Crossroads[/li]
[/ul]

Feedback: Fangshi’s Soulcalibur is massively overtuned. It was able to hit for 999,436 since it was able to scale with player damage bonuses, weapon damage and buff procs.

Again, 1 or 2 Signets on their own are alright but combining most of them makes their downsides obsolete and in turn massively buffing each other all the while providing pretty good procs.

AoE is of no problem due to Fireball’s high pierce chance, large number of projectiles and inherent explosion.

Twist of Fate has a high activate chance on a near instant cooldown for a massive buff to damage and survivability, maybe adjusting the cooldown can help?

Blossom Step gives a very high amount of dodge/deflect at twice the duration of the cooldown of which I was not able to screenshot but basically it gives me ~45-50% chance to dodge/reflect. Maybe decreasing both the dodge/deflect bonus and increasing the cooldown can help balance the skill.

Rain of Swords and Will of Blades is in a good place right now.

I’m not sure a single thread just for DAIL builds is necessary considering how sparse this forum is, but I suppose it is more forward thinking in the case. Seems like it could get messy though if people start discussing minutiae of builds.

I read that terror knight is very powerfull build, but what main skills and passives? I tried to start with terror knight and cant understand with what skills this build’ll be so powerfull on high lvls. And what second mastery?

[DIAL 0046S] Coronus + Nightblade Pet Hybrid Frost Daddy?

Coronus mod mastery by Somerled

Status:
Work In Progress

Theory:
Cold based pets and cold/pierce player attacks benefiting from Night’s Chill and other debuffs.

Current build with bonuses:

Devotions to Note:
Bysmeils Bonds, pet bonuses and pet summon. Shepherds Crook, pet and player bonuses. Rhowan’s Crown, elemental bonuses and good proc. Mogdrogen the Wolf, pet bonuses and -Def proc. Leviathan, cold bonuses and good proc. Assassin, player bonuses and good proc. Blades of Nadaan, player bonuses.

Coronus Skills to Note:
Abbadon, moderate pet with cold attacks. Dead Dogs, self replicating pets with low damage performing charge and knockdown attacks. Dead Dogs make good shock troops to handle mob density. Ignition, self and pet buff. Remains, heavy cold pet.

Nightblade Skills to Note:
Veil of Shadow/Nights Chill, OF and pierce/cold aura style debuff. Blade Trap, -x% defense debuff.

Versions:
2h weapon: Armarastas Blade Burst or Zero Dark Thirty skill. Additional passives in Coronus tree to bump 2h and pet damage.
1h+shield: Half the dps but gains addition defense. I ran this setup for most of 1-90 leveling until better gear became available.
Caster: Untested. Possibly Phantasmal Blade + Awake. Or even 2h ranged with Amarasta BB.

Gear:
Still being explored. Some of my current favorites are: Beastcaller’s Cowl offers short duration pet buff. Ancestor relic for pet buffs. Bane of the Winter King, good 2h weapon. Frostdread Cuirass, good player bonuses and aura skill.

Feedback/Remarks:
Pros: Challenging. Cuts through trash and handles “S” mob density pretty well. Requires strategy to handle champion packs and double/triple boss spawn.
Cons: Balancing devotions and gear to benefit player and pet. Though with Dial, it is possible to get tradition cold/pierce Nightblade gear with double affixs adding pet bonuses. Pets are not as strong as vanilla-style pokeymaster builds.

I chose Amarastas Blade Burst over Zero Dark Thirty as 2h main attack due to the quicker cool down. Zero Dark Thirty does have some good debuffs linked to it, but would work better with default attack modifiers (Shaman). Song of the Dead pet looks interesting but the summon animation feels slow and the pet fires one shot before desummoning. Rain Smell ranged pet summon was stuck at walk speed and wasn’t able to keep up. Couldn’t get Awake to do any meaningful damage. Dev describes it more as a spamable debuff. I found the mana drain too intensive at high levels. Remains is a great pet but also moves slow. I typically run into a pack before summoning so up time is not wasted in transit. I feel the cool down on this pet is acceptable.

At the time I am writing this, I am playing Dail0046S due to post 46 versions not functioning (will attempt v054 soon). I believe the pet movement speeds have since been corrected. I will try to keep this updated as the build becomes more efficient.[/spoiler]

I was looking for a thread like this one!

I tried the order of the bow build, it works wonders untwinked.

As I’ve just started getting into mods over the past few days, a section for Mod build discussions would be awesome.
