… i will not remove any masteries

my mission statement is one of compliance and continual save integrity. i dont want people (myself mainly) to load up one of their (my) million pet chars and just not be able to play them anymore.

we will have to beg crate to increase the limit

i’m sure we can potentially hack the .exe file and patch it ourselves but reverse engineering .exe files then proceeding to distribute said patch and instructions is generally frowned (Cease and Desist usually, very rarely sued) upon, and also in violation of EULA usually. unless of course they say in the EULA that we are allowed to do it . im not a lawyer so i am not going to read it and give an opinion.

When we’ve got more developed and complete masteries from people, I might consider making my own compilation mod. I like that you’ve made one for us here, but of course it’s made how you would like it, and at some point at least I at the very least would like to play one a little less… kitchen sink :p.

a couple of things…

i don’t want to discourage anyone from creating more necromancers. but perhaps you should atleast limit the amount of the same class… Like after 5 necromancers it might be a bit much no?

anyways… since its possible to increase mastery limit since crate has done it… i dont see why they wouldnt eventually do it again if they see how awesome we are at creating classes… I mean they were quick to raise it short enough after mod tools were released. I dont see why it wont work.

honestly i dont htink its much to worry about anyways until crate specificaly states they refuse to raise the mastery limit any more and refuse to allow us to raise it throug a mod.


BTW about the hybrid classes… i wont get much time today because i had a long day at work but tomorrow i wiill have some free time , tonight i will look at the classes i dont play much that are currently merged to get an idea of names for the hybrids.

I am going to start by coming up with names for the classes that are merged already… since I can get an idea of what sort of names to come up with based on the classes skills/objective direction i feel the creator of the class was going for.


EDIT: Oh , I see you put 2 columns of the smae thing… one where i put mine, and yours on the right unedited… so ignore the following …

I am going to fill in the spaces with my custom names in CAPS/bold/italic/underlined unless you have a better idea for this, i tried a different color but none of the colors are too noticeable on the colored backgrounds. To better notice where i put in my ideas for the names.

Somerled has one more mastery he plans on releasing
Skelethon - 2nd necromancer

Ceno has 4 more masteries he plans on releasing.
Riftstalker - assassin? nightblade variant im guessing
Champion - some kind of melee? paladinish?
Outrider - is another word for ranger, gun specialist obviously
Necrotic - necromancer?

both are currently in idea stage as there is nothing released so im safe from being accused of favouritism for now.

How do i choose. I want all of them but there is only room for 4 more

Champion will be paladinish. Was originally going to be the Siegebreaker from that link but I’ve changed my mind on a lot of it.

Does that leave any room for Crate expansions ?

We have too many Necromancers to give a slot to another one, so I’d go with all Ceno out of your options.

Do you have a list of included / planned masteries ? Are Stargazer and Mesmer in ?

id expect mastery cap to go up in an expansion if not sooner…

they already raised it once in a normal patch.

actually fixed the tags for first load of game. forgot to add the NSIS code for it
merged enchanter mastery from 3Jiou
expanded enchanter mastery bar to 100 with appropriate bonuses
updated frost knight mastery
pre-expanded the mastery hybrid tags to the full 426 possible combinations for 30 masteries. go to the OP in GD forums to help out with the naming.
rewards might be in the form of copies of my helper npcs with your forum name or other npcs/things i eventually add to the game.
[b]only 4 more mastery slots left. crate needs to raise the limit… again hahaha…[b]

yup… thanks for the quick updates… i also enjoy watching the development with each release just as i did for grim dawn itself… i played since act 1 was the only playable act… and just when i thought development fever ended… here its happening again with this mod and its awesome!

Hey, a minor hiccup. With the latest compilation, Dail022 shows up on the map and top right of the screen in red. I installed it the way I have done for all other versions. (by overwriting)

Are you sure the link in the front page (DAIL 0028 281MB) is the right one ? Because it downloads a .rar names combat overhaul. It doesn’t seem to be ready on the nexus yet. (The file is currently being uploaded to our file servers and it will be ready to be downloaded soon.)
