[Mod] Reign of Terror

Nothing can really compensate for true D2 but this mod are hella close. To play D2 on a newer engine are great. Also the combo combinations are fun.I would’ve liked to have a single class option as well but GD are not made for single classes.I do play single class to around lvl 35-40ish before deciding on a second class.

I was on act 4 but because of my stupidity i deleted my save game  Back to square one.

PS:Thanks Ram and Elvenroth the launcher works great

Thunderstorm is actually supposed to have % weapon damage on it? My Omnidin has all 3 Elemental masteries as well as Enchant maxed out. Adding % weapon damage to Thunderstorm will just make Omnidin even stronger then it already is (only build I have that can solo Uber Tristram).

does anyone know why the flat elemental damage from those sorc elemental masteries doesnt seem to be effected by % damage of the corresponding element? is that correct behaviour?

I have been playing this Mod for a few days, just having some questions :

  • why the mana cost is little bit unscale, GD has not mana stolen and mana generation just so low. it is so difficult for early leveling.

    like this…
  • why so many skills has 15% main hand damage without ranks?
  • I think some skills should have benefits from the connected skill, there is only way i can do is that level to the skill , refund it and use points to current skill.
  1. Skill balance phase has not begun yet. This is scheduled for future releases. You can use various sources of mana leech / regen in the meantime. Few examples: Tir rune, Ectoplasm / Skull components.

  2. % weapon dmg was added to all offensive skills to utilize % life leech on caster builds and thus reducing the gap in endgame between melee and casters because of how much stronger melee builds were.

  3. New skill modifiers will be added in the future to make lower tier skills more relevant in endgame content.

Quick question. Is it just me or are an cold sorceress really op in the early stages.Yes you have a lot of mana issues but that will scale as you level up.But man she can clear a room fast.

Are you referring to Frozen Orb? If so, then this is caused by proccing “on hit” projectiles after hitting each new target. More targets close together = more projectile procs = more dps

Im speaking of Frost Nova.Damage are huge for a low level spell.Hey you don’t hear my complain  .Just seems a little op early game it may even out once i get to harder part of the game.

Remember the people making Mods are doing it for free, I don’t think its cool to complain about DL speeds, but hey that is my two cents.

I’m going to check this mod out later i was able to dl the 6 gig file with no issues but i have good DL speeds.

Just wondering if it’s normal that it’s taking literally hours to install on an SSD drive.

If by install you mean download, then SSD has nothing to do with it.

If you talk about unpacking the rar you downloaded, then no, it should be faster, but that is a problem of your PC, not the archive / mod.

Download the stand alone version and just config folders correct to update to latest version.I had the same problem only got 300/kbps download the stand alone version at around 2.5/mbps and just updated it from there.

Does anyone know where to farm Vicious Jawbones? I’m 1/3 of the way thru Hell Dif and only have 3 partial component pieces. Need 3 full for the build I’m going for. I assume its a rare random and not tied to a certain enemy type? Maybe SR runs? Certain Vendor? Any insight would be awesome.

Downloading this Mod now. While i’m still not bored of GD + expansions, this looks great i have to say.

One question, this has the original D2 classes in it. Is it viable to pick just one class or are you kinda forced to dual class like in GD?

https://discordapp.com/invite/fCPNJZF this is the link for discord where all questions will be answered faster… you can play single class if you want but in this mod you get a lot more points to max all you need and have tons of skills leftover so why not pick some goodies from second class to make you stronger

You’ll have a total of 319 skill points by the end of Hell difficulty.

thanks for the answers

For me, two classes doesn’t hurt the D2 fantasy because I often concentrate mostly on one class and use the secondary class to add synergy. That’s it. My Necromancer isn’t a druid and my druid isn’t whatever other class I picked. I’ll maybe try mixing classes in interesting ways later If I keep playing.

Played untill lvl 7 and i got to say, it feels really good so far. Not that i have seen much, but it did hook me. Normal+ seems just right for me also at the moment.

Thanks for all the work Ram. Very excited to see all this mod has to offer.

You are one of the few people who are actually ok with slower / challenging start as there were far more reports of the mod being too difficult for a fresh character, especially on Normal+. My aim was to simulate P8 D2 as that’s how I always played back in the days. However, Roth is currently working on new monster hp / lvl and dmg scaling so overall gameplay experience will get smoother with 0.7.0.0 update.
