I was bored with my Paladin with Sorceress skills, so I started playing again the old Necromancer character with Druid skills. Full summon build. The problem is it crashes somewhere between making it to Baal and encountering his minions, sometimes after encountering his minions. Seems to crash every time there. Worldstone chamber starting area before you enter to defeat Baal in Nightmare.

Second note. Had to farm alot on my Paladin before level 50 in act 5, but once I switched to Holy Shock and Fist of Heavens I was doing great! Near the end of act 1 Nightmare currently. No complaints, well designed tree.

EDIT: Got past it by deleting my map files, must have been corrupted from my old system or my bad hard drive.

Also, got past the quill rats in Hell just fine with a pure summonerā€™s build (upon entry of the first area and first quest, not played more than that yet). Use amplify damage and all possible minions at my disposal, most with only one point invested.

I have not been following this mod. Is it true all the GD elements are being removed?

You are correctā€¦ I did something wrong indeed, but Ive fixed it now, reverted to older version hehe.

Is it a bug or am I mis-remembering how buffs apply in that the flat bleeding damage from Howl of Mogdrogen isnā€™t applying to my pets?

Adapting and overcoming a challenging game is a better solution, also if you want to enjoy the next patch (itā€™ll be BIG), but canā€™t stop you from playing easy mode :smile:

Not sure what you remember but the buff applies to your pets.

The crashes were due to not doing a WIndows update. I became wise of that when I also had a crash in act 1 hell mode.

I got to Andariel who is 10 levels above me and instantly kills me in Hell with my Summoning necromancer. . I have maxed poison resist and trying to stay away as far as possible and let my minions deal with her doesnā€™t help. She heals faster than my minions can deal with her minions and her.

Once I got enough DPS experience feels just fine in Hell mode, and I donā€™t think the fights are too difficult with the exception of bosses like Andariel or Blood Raven attacking and killing me instantly sometimes. Though I killed Blood Raven a second time rather easily.

I have found thereā€™s a difficult point from late Nightmare to early Hell, but once you collect enough higher level runes and apply them to your gear and you have good minion damage on all your gear, you can get good experience and I even went back and cleared previous areas with this new confidence. Besides bosses, Iā€™d say itā€™s not too hard at all.

I have 10.4k hitpoints, max resist on elements and poison, and only fair resistances on other things like bleed. But Iā€™m totally certain itā€™s poison that almost instantly kills me.

Otherwise, I think a summoning build is JUST FINE in hell so farā€¦

EDIT: I would be curious to know if my being so under leveled is the reason poison is so potent? Or does that make no difference?

It does not. Itā€™s a strong poison that stacks from several sources. Andariels several attacks but also the poison novas from the zombies she spawns stack. Per zombie. So if you pretty much instantly kill all the zombies, you potentially end up being hit by 2-4 poison novas, on top of Andariels poison skills.

Forgot about Shattered Realm (think itā€™s called that) because Iā€™ve never properly done Grim Dawn endgame and access to it here is as bit different. A day later I found it, gained a few levels easily, and now doing even better in act 1. So because of that, Andariel canā€™t be a huge issue can she? And her heal wasnā€™t too bad alot of the time, I was just dying too much.

Would love to see endgame be more Diablo-esque in the future. :wink: Iā€™d never done a Grim Dawn rift before, or whatever itā€™s called, so that was a blast.

Yet, when I proc Howl of Mogdrogen, the bleeding damage shown on wolves, bear and raven stays exactly the same despite there being an ā€˜applied to petsā€™ listing on it.

I have a ton of bleed damage on my pets too, but have no way to test if itā€™s actually applying. My paladin skills show a different damage number in the character screen vs. the skill itself, but as far as I can tell Fist of Heavens works great, so I guess itā€™s a display bug. No biggie on that one.

EDIT 1: Killed Andariel at level 77 quite easily. Patience is godliness.

EDIT 2: My crashes are probably app related. Rebooting fixed it, had nothing to do with drivers!

Kinda hard to even tell if Howl of Mogdrogen even effects my pets since they run at 233% attack speed already lol.

SR was not supposed to be available on normal or nightmare, but itā€™s a decent way to level up a bit and get some extra items. Itā€™s not the main endgame here but who knows, you might get what you wish for.

Iā€™m no pet player, but if you look at the abilities on the tooltip of wolves/ravens, that shows a passive skill the pets have, so those will never change from flat damage pet buffs. The damage will apply to their melee attacks.

Thank you for clarifying, on the WIKI for this mod it says itā€™s the best leveling strategy there is, so I assumed it was intended end game.

Right now Iā€™m testing a theory, assuming I gain damage each level, that maintaining minimum level that each area spawns ensures a fast clear and good experience. It has been working thus far. Been staying in Act 1 after clearing the Radamant quest and gaining a few more levels before I proceed, as it was a bit slow in act 2.

playing ROT for quite a while now and really enjoyed it but had to take a break for a while. After installing GD and the newest version of the mod iā€™ve started from scratch with no items at all. What happened to the mod? Normal difficult is a pain in the assā€¦ it feels like D2 LOD 1.08 with at least ā€œPlayers 7ā€ + the shitty drops from 1.08 (the items were crazy OP, but they didnā€™t drop anyway). Also seems like a lot of basic monsters got mana leech + ā€œSpectral Hitā€ (D2 Monster affix) just for good measuresā€¦(plain normal Sand Raiders feel like Rare mobs). Melee is unplayable, was lvl 28 in Act 3 and it felt like a WOWā€™s pace and not like an ARPG. Bosses are like Raid Bosses from WOW too but without a guildā€¦ Did Shattered Realm to get like 12 lvls above the Act 3 mobsā€¦ still an Asia Grinders paceā€¦ wtf. So the mod got balanced around summoners and soul crushing kitting? Does it mean if you are able to do uber trist you donā€™t actually need the drops from there anyway? Cmonā€¦ and save your ā€œgit gudā€, im playing this kind of games since diablo 1 came outā€¦ i see broken synergies and can apply them. But this doesnā€™t feel like an ARPG anymoreā€¦ and im not talking about NM or Hellā€¦ just doing some A3 Normal while beeing 12 lvls above averageā€¦ this isnā€™t fun.

Are you playing Normal or Normal +? The + version is supposed to be alot harder. If it feels like /players 7 the devs are close to their objective.

Summoners have complained the most, if you read my posts Iā€™m taking a more positive approach to feedback and am doing fine currently with a summoner in mid act 2 Hell.

You are the first melee complaint in awhile from what I understand, though I didnā€™t follow this thread for some time.

Edit: You shouldnā€™t get access to Shattered Realm until you are in Hell mode. Or did you just go there as itā€™s a mod and you can access any difficulty?

thanks for the quick reply. I did shattered realm for having better items and beeing overleveled to have a better time with A3 white mobs due i needed like 10 - 15 hits even with maxed out zeal (amazon + paladin) and a Serenity Spear. And well Normal+, iā€™ve wiped the floor with all of act1 and 2 just by maxing out Ravensā€¦

Edit: You can go SR in any difficult, just did it in normal to maxing out fanaticism but well still missing white mobs in A3 with lvl 40 and maxed out zeal + fana :frowning:

Edit2: Btw is there any chance to get spears fixed? A lot of other grim dawn mods could, maybe they share how they did it

Unless you like somehow getting to Shattered Realm, donā€™t play Normal + and tell us how it is.

I was just told you can only access it in Hell mode just a few posts back.
