… thank you very much …

Steam and GOG players can crossplay together so long as you use Galaxy to do so.
… everything worked out! And now I also have an animal companion, since I’ve had dogs myself for 50 years. Fits really well.
@ medea_fleecestealer
I didn’t know that, but I don’t like any platforms and I don’t want to install any because with GOG, for example, I would have to reinstall all my 38 games to be able to play online at all. And I’m not prepared to do that …
Last time I checked Normal + was given balancing in a recent patch. It’s now easier as far as I can tell.
… what is this NORMAL + actually …
When selecting the difficulty level, there is normal + besides normal, it makes stuff a lot harder.
I am on discord, and I read people’s comments that normal + isn’t that balanced still, but I tried it recently, and ran into some elites, they took a long time to kill. But anyway, check the box if you want harder stuff.
… all right, thank you …
@TomBrown I rename Normal + to NAIVE+STRUGGLE whenever a player asks why it’s too hard and they keep playing without unchecking it, because they believe they are so good it shouldn’t be too hard, but it is.

If you know what you are doing, it’s not that bad. People just expect it to be as easy as veteran in GD, or D2. It is, after act3, probably just as easy usually.
… I had the fun of playing with my Lev. 52 wizard for some time in the Frozen Tundra on Veteran (or Normal +) difficulty!
Except for the fact that the enemies do higher damage when they hit me, no enemy stands a chance against my chain lightning, which currently deals almost 400,000 damage per second. And the Lev. 24 Lightning Hydra is even worse - no end enemy survives longer than a few seconds, and the world bosses are no fun either, of which I have already killed several.
What I’d like to know is whether there’s any advantage to playing this difficulty level, or whether it’s just the bigger kick that’s supposed to come with it?
As a melee fighter, I see the mission as clearly more difficult, because the enemies clearly do more damage, but as a ranged fighter, who doesn’t even let his enemies get close to him in most cases, the whole thing is much easier, whereby the Chain Lightning and the Chain Hydra are in a completely different league again …
It’s mainly intended as a slightly more challenging first run. Enemies give 15% more experience, and there’s a small increase in chance of spawning hero monsters, so in theory, you get more loot
but the lootdrop chances aren’t increased. As in base GD, after level 20-25 or so, you usually have outgrown the difficulty, and then the speed picks up and its no longer noticable that is that much more difficult.
… Is there actually something like a guideline in Reign of Terror regarding the amount of life points?
So something like, at the end of NORMAL you should have this much life as a melee fighter and the same as a ranged fighter, or do you adjust it to the circumstances?
I would like to know how much life you had at the end of Act 5 on NORMAL.
@ Fuzzydunlop
Thank you for the information …
That is a difficulty one to answer, Also, you should only increase strength to wear whatever endgame gear you going to use. ( for many classes, dex is the main stat you should focus on) (there is a potion you can use to reset attributes, if you need to. (quest reward)
Making sure your resists are good, that is your main concern, so components drop a lot more now, so if you have empty slots for stuff, plug it.
But really it dends on your build, I wouldn’t worry too much about it. as long as your not struggling too much.
… I have a problem! Baal won’t retreat even though I’ve finished off all 5 enemy hordes. But that’s no way to attack - and all I can hear from him is laughter.
And now - what can I do?

That’s done - I only had to pass Baal and enter the hall with the world stone. Baal was already waiting there, although he was also outside …
@TomBrown That bug has been randomly occurring since I first started playing the mod. I never reported it.
@ D2ModPlayer
… and how long have you been playing …
I was late to the table, maybe a year? I don’t remember. Right around then alot of stuff was upgraded on the trees and things became easier to understand, but only in the last few months with the restructured skill trees has it really cemented it’s full weight as a solid and easily understood game.
I heard about it before but decided to wait. I’d heard about the Starcraft remake the last 5 years so I wasn’t holding my breath, thought I’d wait for it to mature. The Starcraft remake gave up and released Act 1 only as D2:R was coming out, and it always only intended to be 1:1 with D2 itself.
Whelp, D2:R is no longer 1:1 since its been reported that TCP/IP has been removed so no more LAN support AND no more private servers. That means that the mod support that Blizzard promised is also gone. D2:R is now just singleplayer and online through battle.net ONLY.
They did it merely to avoid piracy. Someone unlocked all 5 acts on the Alpha and Blizzard banned it online. Blizzard lied. SHHHH… They can’t take anymore bad PR right now!
@Goober I was talking about the Starcraft remake, not D2:R. The Starcraft remake was canceled when it was announced.
Have to say. This games a lot more forgiving after the balance patch.I am not rushing to get to end game.I just enjoy the scenery. The maps are gorgeous.
