Modding Question - Conversion in skills/weapons

Does anyone know how damage conversion mechanics work for skills/weapons? I want to put in an ability that does some conversion of one type of damage to another, but I don’t understand how…or more importantly when damage conversion takes place.

On the in damage, does conversion take place before or after the %Damage bonus is applied.

On the out damage, does the damage get applied before or after the %damage is calculated.

Does the %damage get modified based on how much is converted? IE 30% of the in damage %damage and 30% of out damage %damage.

Advanced mechanics thread explains this, and if I recall all the conversions are done before multipliers. Now that we have mod tools and I can make a weapon of 1000 fire damage on melee hit, we can test this more thoroughly. The in game mouse overs explain the damage well for primary and secondary attacks though, and you can see each type of damage and how much is done. Easy to check without mods.

On skills, if a skill has modifiers that boost the damage of the base skill (i.e., Fighting Form’s % Physical Damage boosting Cadence’s flat Physical), they will apply before Conversion. Otherwise, after.

Before.

No.
