Modifiers for devotion constellations on items

I imagine it would be a big pain to implement, but might give players more reason to pick certain pathways.

Multiple options for skills eg

  • Increase max level of Eldritch Fire by 3
  • 18% reduced target’s damage to Whirlpool

You could also have bonuses for “completed” constellations that are usually 3 pointers. Eg

  • Increases armor by 8% to Behemoth (requires completed constellation) etc

It is not a “big pain” to implement by gave dev because there is already exist mod named “star mod” (infinished and abandonned in curient state) that makes exactly that you described - modify celestial power, enchance it and gives them ranks, and bound this upgrade to particular set pieces

I guess when I wrote “big pain” to implement I meant it would be harder to balance as you not only have to worry about the 2 classes and their gear but what paths they might or might not take.

It might also be a way to promote more synergy between classes that you would not normally pick, such as Defilers.

I think a smaller, but much more appreciated idea would be to take advantage of global conversions to take constellations with big bonuses that you otherwise wouldn’t take because they’re not the “big T3” devotions.

An example: Abomination is taken most of the time on Chaos builds because of its fat flat and % bonuses. Torch has great % OA and % Crit bonuses and could be useful. If a build already has Fire → Chaos conversions, why not have something that entices people to take Torch alongside Abomination? As it is now, a constellation has to check all the boxes in order to be used in a build to the point where everything is “optimized” and “samey.”

Having something like “100% Chaos damage to Torch” which applies if you have the meteors bound to something would be really cool and shake up how people approach devotion pathing.
