Maybe it is because the Primal Instinct relic is so good, but having 5 additional pets that crit for 10k-12k relatively fast, seems much more useful than HP, armor and speed on my dogs and birds.
I have not done exhaustive testing, but it certainly doesn’t blow me away.
The aura giving me mere 8% total speed isn’t too appealing either. I can see where it might be useful for +all skills but it could use some looking into. The bonuses it gives to pet and player could use some buffs/changes
The aura isn’t very impressive for the cost but you seem to be ignoring the inherent boosts of health, +1 all skills for you and damage, crit damage and chaos and aether resists for your summons.
This is one of the best relics in the game right now. Up to 550 flat life and 6% life and +1 to all skills. +8% total speed is lifesaver for ppl that lack movespeed.
It isnt even as good as Bysmeil’s domination. Granted Bysmeil doesnt have the +1 all skills, but how much of an impact really is there for that +1? consider all summoner’s skills scale horribly and that +1 is like +1% more health on pet aura.
Meanwhile Bysmeil offers a whopping 12% pet OA, one of the rarest stat in game, and the active is an insane boost that is up at least 50% of the time.
Mogdrogen’s Ardor in all honestly needs a buff, it looks absolutely crap compared to others.
The way I see it, Ardor is for pet builds that don’t fit into the categories offered by the other pet relics. The stats on the relic itself are fine - health, +1 to all skills and % crit damage are all solid. The buff giving speed, health and armour to pets feels like it’s missing something but that’s just me.
Its just not that big a deal at endgame. It takes me to 15k HP and 128% run speed. The +1 is good, but it is Occultist only as I was already getting +1 Shaman. It needs flavour. Primal Instinct and Bysmiels Domination both had flavour. Swarmlings and PO’d Pets. This relic is just boring. I don’t want stats out the wazoo, I just want fun.
Skip the HP’s and buff the hell out of total speed (30%), that would be fun. Give the caster another 7% speed for a total of 15%.
ar·dor
ar·dor
noun: ardour enthusiasm or passion.
“they felt the stirrings of revolutionary ardor”
It can be a big deal if you have no others means to increase your health, aka you have Arcanist/Occultist/Demo/Nightblade in the mastery pool and you cant breack 15k effective hp without going all-for-life in devotion route. And +1 all is extremly powerfull.
If, if, if. The only people using this are pure pet builds, so Conjurer and Cabilist. 500 hp is not that big a deal at level 100, I am regularly seeing rings with over 1k hp and good stats.
Like I said, it is +1 Occultist, which is not that big a deal. Bird, Dog, Curse and Blood.
Even if it is “powerful”, it is not as good as the swarmlings and it is boring as hell. This is not what I expect to see for a lvl 90 relic.
And now you are ignoring necro who won’t think up to 5 short lived fire damage dealing pets are so impressive when he already has 2-3 pets and 10 skeletons to benefit from buffs.
Why does everyone consider this relic as a pet centered relic? I would use that one for any non-pet build that does not require a proc from the other class specific relic…
I think the main issue is that with pet using class combos, in most cases any sort of item that grants one or more additional pets is automatically superior to virtually any other type of bonus to the summoner or pets unless it is an enormously powerful enhancement.
I dunno what people want out of it.
+1 to all skill is a lot on it’s own. I mean + 1 to one mastey might mean oa, da, damage (higher lvl of you skill or more %damage comming from another buff like Reckless Power for exemple), resist reduction, crit damage…
It also mean being able to either overcap or take another skill (or max it) by taking skill points added by the +1 from certain skill.
Also the relic adds (when you equip it) more or less 1k to 2k (considering your gear/devotion/skill) depending on your build and the roll for the completion bonus.
