First off lemme say this game is the best one currently available (srsly screw d3) and I wanna thank the devs for being so passionate about their product.
On to the point now. To keep things short I basically moded some parts of the base game (database.arz, gdx1.arz) to suit my own personal needs such as permanent BoD (still functions as usual only the duration was upped so it seemed perma), larger radius on buffs and auras etc etc… but nothing gamebreaking and more on the QoL fixes side. Maybe I even release a version of it with some extra addons in the future!
I love Demo in particular and Mortar trap has been the most badass skill I’ve ever seen in a game and while it looks good and plays good it’s still not very powerful even after AoM launched so I had a good idea on how to fix it!
But I can’t sadly cause I dunno how.
So the idea is to make ‘‘The Big One’’ fire every 4th shot instead of only once after 3-4 seconds into the barrage. Now I remember either Grimarilion or DAIL had such a thing built in already but I can’t find a way to alter it myself so if any of the modding community ‘‘geeks’’ out there can help me out? I’d really appreciate it!
I’ve been talking about mortar trap being lacking since 2014, devs just won’t listen.
AOM is here, now we can have up to 5 or 6 mortars with 1 sec cooldown.
Basically they buffed it by 500% and it’s still not good enough, it’s good, but not great. imagine how crap it was before.
I know how bad they were before (playing since b29) but they’re still not good enough compared to other skills, thus I’ve buffed their damage but the main thing is the feeling you get rewarded when The Big One hits the ground and explodes… sadly even that isn’t enough and the fact it fires only ONCE isn’t encouraging, so I’m looking into changing that but I don’t know where to look, I mean what .dbr to edit or what trigger to edit or is there a script that runs it…
I can use Asset Manager just fine (been modding in TQ aswell) and DBR editor, the problem is I looked through every string inside it and I can’t find anything that can change the behaviour of the mortar firing The Big One
skimmed through modding forums, dunno if you’re still looking for an answer. you have to mod the mortartrap[01-26].dbr files. under skill configuration the big one (mortartrap03.dbr) is listed as special attack to use which has a 3 sec timeout and a 30 sec delay.
