Most obscure armor piercing question yet

Does physical damage from a shield (e.g. Stonefather Bulwark) also get converted to piercing with 100% armor piercing on a constellation? (i.e. Blades of Nadaan)?

0% armor piercing * 2 = 0% armor piercing

The wording is: “increases armor piercing” not “provides armor piercing” - means: only already existing armor piercing is affected

Not sure you’re read the question properly. Or I have worded it confusingly. I’ll have another go: physical weapon damage gets converted to piercing with armor piercing, unless it’s converted to something else beforehand; shields are weapons (in some senses), so does physical damage on shields get converted to piercing with armor piercing too? Is another way of putting it.

Armor piercing affects locally to weapon on which it is. Weapon without armor piercing means 0 armor piercing. Wielding 2 weapons with 15% armor piercing doesn’t mean 30% armor piercing but still15 for each weapon. Same for S&B, weapon armor piercing doesn’t affect shield damage. Increase armor piercing is multiplicative bonus: 15% armor piercing +100% increase armor piercing = (15+15)%=30% armor piercing.
Thus, shield physical damage couldn’t be converted to pierce damage neither by armor piercing, only by natural conversion.

The constellation Armor piercing is not on a weapon though?

doesn’t matter
as already explained it doesn’t add armour piercing to where there is none, it’s a multiplicative bonus to existing
ie +100% armour piercing = 0 if an item has 0 armour piercing, like a shield
if a sword has 30% ap it becomes 60%

You are misunderstanding how blades of nadaan works. It doesn’t provide any armor piercing on its own. It only multiplies existing values so a shield will never have armor piercing no matter how high you stack % increased armor piercing.

The first guy was right, 0*2=0

If you add an amulet (or other item) with flat physical damage (e.g. Markovian’s Distinction) and you have 100% or more armor piercing on a weapon, then that all gets converted to piercing too, so it doesn’t seem just local to the weapon with AP on it?

(global) flat physical dmg, like that found on ex a necklace, is only applied to weapon dmg, so naturally gets converted through the weapon attack via the AP on the weapon
if you were using a shield in offhand then your offhand dmg would not get converted, (no AP on shields); not even the flat phys from the neck, it would only get converted through your mainhand now

Physical damage bonus, I emphasize, bonus is global character bonus. It will add to both you weapon and it will be converted if you hit with main hand weapon, and will not be if you hit with off-hand (forcewave or aegis of menhir for example).
