Mouse Cursor has a Mind of Its Own :-(

I bought Grim Dawn before it came out and have just started playing it again and I am having a problem controlling m character because the mouse pointer has a mind oof its own. I cannot figure out why the cursor wants to move on its own. I notice this happens when the fans kick up the cursor gets a mind of its own, If anyone has any ideas how to fix this please help. Also, the game has been crashing to the desktop every play through.

Do you have a controller plugged in too?

Yes I do and it is unplugged from my system.

It’s probably crashing due to windows defender, or a different anti-virus program.

As for the mouse pointer issue, might be an issue with windows mouse acceleration, haven’t had to touch that side of windows in a very, very long time. Or it might be an issue with your mouse’s software/driver.

Thanks I will take a look into those possible issues! Thanks again for the sgestions.

Sweet. Also, I haz more ideas about this.

  1. is the mouse wired or wireless?

  2. Does the cursor issue turn up in other games etc?

Because wireless fun can cause issues, as can damaged mouse cables or mouse sensors malfunctioning or that have some dust/hair impacting the sensor.

And when it comes to PC problems it’s always a good idea to cover all the potential causes because things can and will go wrong in ways you don’t expect :upside_down_face:

I am sorry for the off-topic here but this is absolutely epic and worth pointing out. Grim Dawn has really been around in one shape or another for a while!

Well, forum’s existed since 2010 so it’s been around a long time.

Yep I’m an oldie goldy! I was in the Kick-Starter. Oh and my mouse is wired.
