I noticed the move reagents button in the inventory transfers directly to the shared stash. While I’m sure this is a great boon for the majority, this has caused a setback for those like me who play “self-found” characters. The setback comes in that the move reagents button in the personal stash has been removed. This leaves us to manually deposit each item into our personal stash one by one.
Some solutions are adding the “move reagents” button back to the personal stash, making the current button in the inventory “smart” in realizing which stash in currently open/focused, or adding an option to select which stash get deposited to. Adding the component/materials tab to the personal stash once this gets figured out will be the sweetest cherry on top (if possible).
I hold out hope for a solution in some future patch. Till then, you guys absolutely made the right call in the dedicated tabs and I fully whole-heartedly appreciate the work that went into it. Thanks for reading.
It is possible to maintain separate reagent files, by backing up the reagents.gst file in your save folder and then let the game recreate an empty one when the game is restarted. However I believe cloud saving must be disabled first, because I would swear at some point the game magically put them back after I had deleted them. I also experienced some black screen issues for which it is unclear to me right now if they were caused by me toying with this file to create an SSF character
EDIT: just found out my issue is likely this one, so not related to swapping the reagents file:
I considered this an option even before the update in regards to the account wide crafting recipes. Ultimately however, shutting down the game, creating new backups, and swapping save files felt a little too involved for me every time I wanted to switch characters. It is a viable work-around, but that still leaves the original problem and not everyone is willing or even can use it (Thinking of my copy on Xbox).
It would also make my characters feel locked out not seeing them in the main menu. Sometimes I just scroll through them and seeing what the flavor of the sessions is going to be. That’s just a tiny irrelevant grumble though
