Playing the game with my wife and son, we first fiddled around to get LAN multiplayer working, finally got my router/modem set up so it works.
Found that since I had start and was afew level in before they decided they wanted to play I could “host” the game as they were not getting the quests so set port forwarding so my wife is the Host and voila they both had their quests.
We were able to quest together and they eventually got to where I was and we continued quest together making sure each time we were all close by when one of us accepted quest so we all got them , same thing when turning them in.
We have reached Homestead but I have just noticed that while I have homestead faction unlocked and at 322/1500 both of them DO NOT have homestead in the faction page at all…
What gives? We all have the same quests and are at the same play and haven’t played unless we are all on together.
First, make sure that the people that have joined your game are in your party. Not because a player has joined your game means that he or she is in your party. There is an “auto-join” setting to double-check by creating the game, and you can also double-check in-game by pressing the “P” key by default I believe to make sure that everybody really is in the same party. Only people in the same party share the experience earned by completing quests.
That may be the reason, another one would simply be that the other players have not killed enough faction-related monsters to get the sufficient amount of points to get promoted in the faction relationship levels.
Aye in my search efforts I read about this but this is not what I meant. We haven’t done the quest yet to choose a faction.
When we first got to homestead it unlocked “homestead” ( what I mean is that homestead appeared in the list) in the faction tab (bottom left under the healthbar) for me but not for them even though we all did everything together. This led me to think something was wrong.
Now I am ahead of them in homestead faction for some reason, from what Grimdawn_Betatest posted I assume it’s because I am spamming Devouring Swarm and thus getting more kills than they are?
Also as we quest together sometimes one of them becomes invisible (not really a big deal but can be annoying at times) on my screen yet is there on my wifes and sons, it seems to be random, and fixes itself as we move around.
I don’t think so. If everybody is in the same party and right around, as far as I know the faction points are shared among all players (if 1 monster gives 1 faction point, everybody in the party gets that 1 point when the monster is killed by somebody from the party).
You do quest together if you are in the same game and in the same party. Otherwise you may be under the impression to be questing together while you are actually not if nobody has joined the same party.
Dunno then what happnened then cause we definately were in the same party and together, like I said though homestead didn’t unlock for them right away when we got to homestead it took a quest or two for it to show up for them.

I am sure we are in the same game and in party. We are playing via LAN not via gog galaxy or steam, my wife is the one hosting the game and when I hit P the option to join quit or leave party are greyed out, it does show all 3 of us there in party too.
Also when one of us turns in a quests it updates for all of us except for some few exceptions where we each have to turn in something like bounties.
That’s weird. I play only multiplayer and never had that kind of issue.
We have had a couple of time the invisible/still teammate client issue, but that was a year ago and this appears to have been fixed, but never anything wrong or weird with the factions leveling.
At this stage, what I would suggest is to 1) make sure that all versions are fully up-to-date, 2) confirm if the shared factions leveling works with the other factions (rovers for instance), 3) check if there is anything else wrong or weird with the multiplayer (aura/experience/quests/items sharing), or if this issue is really isolated to those faction levels, 4) try to repeat the homestead faction unlocking, but with somebody else hosting the game, 5) try again with a new team, and check around homestead how this works, 6) eventually check for malware/services/security etc that may affect the LAN (firewall, viruses etc, although that would really be weird if the only thing affected in the game would be the factions leveling sharing)
Sorry for the late reply was busy playing the game!
Well everything is fine right now we are all getting faction and have just farmed Devils Crossing Faction up to a little over Honored.
We are using v1.0.0.6 GOG version and don’t have galaxy installed to update, GOG’s a little weird with manual patches and like to force complete redownloads if you don’t use galaxy and want to update to a specific version and we are enjoying the builds we are using right now and it seems they get nerfed at some point.
