First of all, Thank you Dev’s for making a game where I can do this and make it to the end with all characters! All of my characters are on ultimate and level 100.
Happy for any tips on what or how to improve them. Have not done Oathkeeper yet… May do one not sure! I am just so happy this game is not like so many that give you an “Option” to play other classes but really can’t! Any questions by all means ask, love this game! Hope this helps some people or gives them idea’s. This Is how they stand now. All heroes set up and working. As per request here are the deaths. Took me awhile to complete with every hero but there they are!
Talking about the builds I sadly have to say that there is a lot that can be improved:
Judging by the fact that your first grimtools link does have components and some augments I’m going to judge that all of your links are from uploaded save files. That means that most of your characters lack components and augments completely which results in very bad resistances. Even your shaman does not have fully maxed out resistances. You will not be able to do nemesis/crucible/sr/etc with that. Use components and augments to resolve that issue resistances are VERY important. Just say one character has 60% resistances and another has 80%. That second one takes 20% damage instead of 40%. That is half the damage!
One big disadvantage of solo class builds is the lack of stats of a second mastery bar. Therefore you have to use attributes wisely. Your characters have their attributes randomly scattered around. For example your soldier has 30 points in spirit despite not having any use for that much investment whatsoever. A good idea is usually to dump all into physique that isn’t needed for item requirements.
You mostly ignored resistance reduction. Enemy resistances are the most damage reducing factor in endgame making resistance reduction essential to any build. The reason for that is just the same as above, enemies with 80% resist take half the damage ones with 60%. You dismissed many resistance reducing devotions in your builds. In my opinion the reason for this is that your builds in general but especially your devotions have a lack of focus.
In Grim Dawn hybrid builds generally aren’t are good idea as they usually simply end up result lacking in both departments. For example your shaman has Pets, Vitality/Pet gear, Lightning (Primal Strike). Your devotions on that are also all over the place. You have Defense, 2-Hand, Pet and even Bleeding in there. Your inquisitor goes lightning, fire, cold AND pierce. To be effective you should really focus on a specific playstyle and try resolve your character completely around it (Items, Skills and Devotions). Saying that I do realize that solo class builds are weird in that department as you have more skillpoints than what one playstyle of a class takes.
If you are looking for references on how steamlined and optimized builds (skills, items and devitions) could look like, take a look at the Build Compendium (IX/X). In the compendiums there is a seperate section for solo class builds that can give you inspiration.
Ok, I’ll start with thank you for some of the tips. Now in my defence, some of what you pointed out is right and some of the classes you point out that there are problems I couldn’t agree more with. Now as far as the shaman is concerned, his resistances are all maxed except for 1 which is 77. Now the life and mana resistances could do with more work. As far as taking on nemeses are concerned I do quite well. Stun being only major problem and that is only on some, others I nail! Tho I appreciate your feedback you say some parts of the build are bad and devotions are all over the shop. All of the things you pointed out all work with the shaman. Bleeding pet and 2 hand work. Inquisitor of mine sucks and yes needs work. Only one I will defend is Shaman because I can do all of what you mention and then some! Only thing I cannot do are celestials. Now if you’ve said that, I would have agreed with everything you said hands down. Otherwise the shaman works a lot better than you think and the devotions are not as bad as they look.
