Myth. Invokers Set Badly Needs A Buff

Right, so using this build:

Been modifying this Sorc build for many years, but myth. Invoker set is not that good and really it needs a helm item to help it + heavy buffs to PRM to make it shine better. Especially if not using Inquisitor, which annoyingly a lot of PRM gear pushes you to use instead of any other mastery.

Oh and more skill points of course, because PRM is extremely point hungry and maxing out Distortion is now badly needed. Also, it should give all +1 skills for Demo or Shaman to allow for making more different builds. As the set otherwise blocks offhand and amulet slots.

Hopefully we see some new PRM items with FoA, but ideally buffing Myth. Invoker set helps for those how don’t buy FoA.

Now I’ve slept, somewhat (woke up at 6:30am NZ time, would have preferred a lot longer) and brain’s able to use worbs again and think. Here’s what I think Invoker needs to support Demo/Shaman

Myth. Invokers Shard:

  • Gives Demo +1 to all skills
  • Provides either an OA gain to Flame Touched or a modifier to Flashbang to increase DA shred.
  • MOAR lightning damage

Myth. Invoker’s Shocking Touch:

  • +2-3 skill points to Raging Tempest
  • Replace Lightning Resist with more Elemental Resist for obvious reasons or change that to Pierce Resistance

Myth. Invoker’s Burning Hand

  • +2-3 skill points to Thermite Mine for obs reasons :stuck_out_tongue:
  • Change Fire Resit to something else, say Acid Resist.

Myth. Invoker’s Blaze

  • Modifier to Mog’s Pact that increases OA.
  • Modifier to Wind Devil that shreds DA.
  • That Elemental Damage feels pretty low compared to other Elemental items

Set Bonuses:

  • +1 to all Shaman Skills
  • Flashbang support
  • Raging Tempest Support
  • Modifier to Stormcaller’s Pact that adds Fire/Lightning%+ Because :stuck_out_tongue: OR It provides an override that turns PRM primarily into Lightning. Because Li PRM is currently a total meme.

Yea it blocks like two very important spots (amu and off-hand), has -15% aether for soem reason on proc and ends up as a disco party skill without dealing any significant damage, prob due to being too broad in two damage types (fire and lightning).

“Distortion” part really hits the whole thing, it’s super hard to fix if u want 22/12 (and which u do need), but overall, set should get some form of dps output a bit more.

Also as u mess mentioned, surviving is another thing, you have to stand still but unlike AAR u don’t really have a lot going on in terms of life steal unless u wear helmet with the pistol maybe. I managed to make a myth invoker build once and it passed but never was “woah” to begin with. That was like patch 1.1.0.3 or smth

PRM is crazy good already. It doesn’t need buffs. I don’t know about this set in particular, but @mad_lee has a build with it https://forums.crateentertainment.com/t/1-1-1-2-1-2-1-3-expelliarmus-easy-sr-30-31-sr-36-ravager-crate-prm-mage-hunter
So it can’t be that bad.

Gonna focus on the buildu posted above, with magic edie tools i tested it myself. I wanted to see if I am wrong, you see… but it turns out the build is eeeeh. Died so many time in SR 37 that i quit cuz it became impossible at Gazer Prime level.

It does shine at trash mobs and it clears them fast, Valdaran, Iron maiden on other hands decimilates the build. It can’t survive that well. Doable? yes. Fun and reliable in such thing, sadly no.

What i tho I firstly suspected came true, no hate torwards lee I adapted some of my builds from him too but this panetti itself is lacking. Even with Arcane bomb + Soalel Flame (which I saw that I didn’t try) failed.

I test all of my builds there, maybe became a bit of a norm which shouldn’t have happened.

Isn’t SR 37 like old SR85/90? Basically only hyper-meta builds can beat it consistently, no?

sr 30-31 is the balancing concern range  - zantai is already nerfing builds based on their 31 performance :scorv:

anyway

last i tried Lee’s PRM chad it was absolutely nuts still, and that was after the .3 or .6 nerf iirc, +running a gimped version because i changed his with leech pistol for extra lazy (less dmg)

92  take new SR and multiply by 2.5 to get old

Nah fam, that’s prob why I want that sweet nigthmare difficulty. Maybe mine and mess standards became a bit too high here. It’s crazy how i barely touch SR 30-31 these days.

took the grimsheet version for a spin (not their save file) since it’s the most recent updated Mage Hunter, Level 100 (GD 1.2.1.6) - Grim Dawn Build Calculator
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ixdncMbZHF8

i’m running this like 6.30-6.50 x3, while half asleep from lacking :zzz:s , at a time where ptr sr runs are 30-50% longer because general SR changes, with nay a worry in the world.
If the 2nd biggest baboon pilot on the forum can so comfortably and reliably play this, dare i say Invoker-arcanist-PRM does not need buffs,
Do you want Demo/Shaman in the mix and itempool somewhere Mess, have at it

That’s fine, but it’s not a measurement of whether a build is good enough. The fact that it can even do SR37 says enough imho.

And PRM is so silly, I don’t want to say OP, but even with mostly blue items it’s good enough for SR30+. I am kinda salty, because it was absolute ass and then it got buffed into the stratosphere so much that I didn’t even want to try and make a build out of it anymore, since there’s 0 challenge

So I tried my own duedo:

0 deaths, pure panetti, very decent BUT that’s not with 4/4 peace Ivoker

Mage Hunter, Level 100 (GD 1.2.1.6) - Grim Dawn Build Calculator

Conlusion for me is that 3/4 peace Ivoker works better than full, but since it works, it works, and sicne me have such huge standards - this will do for now. Modified this build to my own liking.

That’s because Inquisitor mastery is better than Demolitionist sadly, so Invoker needs a buff to help us to use Demo and Shaman based PRM builds. As PRM items otherwise synergise better with Inquisitor, which is how he got it to be that good.

This, I usually use SR34-35 to work out how to make a tanky build :stuck_out_tongue:

It’s a single mastery set, single skill even. So not an issue with the set :man_shrugging:

It’s not crazy good, it’s decent ish. Not amazing, not bad. Single target is very lacking and that shotgun nerf or fix killed a lot of its potency. Hopefully FoA gives PRM builds new toys.

Also best PRM builds are Mage Hunters and I guess Spellbinder.

This. I’ve been messing around with pure Elemental Mage Hunter PRM myself:

The difference is night and day sadly for a Sorc PRM build

When was that? Maybe I didn’t play it after, it’s been a while.

Right, used part of @mad_lee’s PRM Magehunter Devotion Path did help this build:

Still though, Invoker set this to need to give + -10-15RR% modifier to Thermite/WD as this will allow it be better for Demo/Shaman builds…

Me too sleepy say moar :sleepy:

some patches ago, don’t remember when exactly
