So, I’ve been messing around with a bunch of Myth. Alladrah’s Spellblade based EoR builds and one thing that always comes up is just how annoying they are to gear so you get 100% conversion of lightning to fire. Which results usually in having to dual wield it and have support for dual wielding, though Myth. Korvaak’s Brand does help a lot in that regard. Even if it doesn’t support EoR like it does FS/Savagery.
Current state of the surviving fire EoR build:
Still glassy of course, no matter which devotion path I choose But this gets 410K sheet dps and a ton of burn damage and the ability to get through SR34-35 a lot more consistently. But still not on par really with what you can do with Lightning/Chaos/Vitality EoR from my own testing of lightning EoR and from other’s results with the same damage types. Also due more polish obviously. I just retouched it today and changed the chest and boots to provide better fire%.
Anyhow, I think what this item needs is this, keep the lighting to fire conversion, because it’s a hard thing to get in game, but the bonuses to EoR should be shifted from total conversion of physical to total conversion of lightning. And swap the flat fire for 10-15% weapon damage added to EoR.
This would then allow still for dual wielding, but would also allow for people to use a shield or offhand instead. While not encroaching too much on the MI Axe, especially if the wda% is only 10%.
Attack damage converted to health could also work too, since trying to get adcth sustain off EoR is hard outside of specific items due to it’s inherent lower weapon damage.
I feel like adding yet another item that scales WD on EoR is kinda boring. Besides, I think the weapon is designed to be an item that turns attacks into “caster” skills. An interesting approach would be to just buff the proc or add some other unique modifier to EoR like max movement speed.
builds lacking phys conversion lacked soulfire dmg (as mi0 mentions required global conversion)
and no it’s not just dr, the way Soulfire mechanics work means it’s actually pretty insane portion of EoR’s dmg
Though a global lightning to fire conversion% added to Divine Mandate would work right? Flame Touched could also work, but that’s already got one with a certain 2 hander mace.
Fine, 20% then. Though I’d modelled Zantai would only go with 10% to avoid making too stronk. And I thought bonuses on a left hand weapon or off hand would apply to the skill right? That’s how one of the Groble offhands works for Phantasmal Blades so dual wielding this dagger would thus give 20% in total.
the modifier would apply from both hands yes, the dmg scaling end would still just be different than true dw scaling.
Because eor has leech issue WD is probably a good idea(assuming we don’t just get leech), just gotta be careful about the amount when you’re asking to replace flat dmg and not merely adding on top
yes
*flametouched conversion mod would not be a good idea imo, since it instantly nukes the possibility of other EoR builds, and even if paladin is worse, dervish actually isn’t bad.
A = main-hand weapon damege, containing only dagame from weapon itself, weapon components and weapon augments.
B = off-hand weapon damage, same as A.
C = global weapon damage, containing all others, from armors, buffs, passives, devotions, etc.
True dw scaling, like most WPS, PS and RoS (just got buffed in playtest), each weapon deals damage separately. Total WD = (A+C)+(B+C). Global WD is counted twice.
EoR, two weapons are calculated together. Total WD = A+B+C. Global WD is counted only once.
soulfire is a secondary effect applied at set intervals, think of it as “guaranteed” dps, with minimum double hit effect from it orbiting, with potential for more/3? if big bois.
Iirc i think the charge time/cd is 0.2secs? so soulfire basically slaps your target minimum 10x/sec
and it’s not even tied to your attack speed, where direct EoR dps will go down from its 12hits/sec if you’re not at 200speed
I learned this when Lee laughed at me trying to add flat (wd) dmg to a particular eor setup, thinking i was being “smort” using like Balthazar medal for 30 (global) flat to Flametouched/Weapon dmg(=30*0.4), and he said to just hardcap Soulfire instead(was few under).
I think, doing paper math at the time, 1pt of soulfire turned out to be more dps than balthazar medal(incl temper ranks) (might have been 2 soufire pts tho), and was why i ended up using them bad Greaves of Ill omen instead/since, despite losing defence, because moar offence/hardcapped Soulfire bonus dmg
So, if I understand this right: getting your attack speed is still very important… but even if you don’t, the damage from soulfire is still substantial that it is always worth overcapping ?
Any idea what % of the total output is typically due to Soulfire alone ?
Is soulfire’s damage included in the character tooltip ?
soulfire dmg is included in char sheet p1/p2, but as with other tooltip jank i’m not sure it’s factoring in its effect 100%, since tooltip tends to base dmg on the hit sheet x speed (which isnt’ always applicable on dps effects like dots and fixed interval thingies Torrent etc)
like i said, i don’t remember the numbers exact, and would likely also depend on build, just that in that case balthazar medal/30 global flat was not worth it, and made me chase soulfire points since.
But as i understand it soulfire is very much worth overcapping for the dmg even DR gain aside.
Unsure if really applicable comparison here/v endgame setups, but it’s such a decent chunk of dmg you can “feel” it on levelling with 1-12 and just coasting on Soulfire until you can mana sustain eor itself.
