I’m currently playing a Panetti’s Mage Hunter and am using a Mythical Phantom Thread Girdle and while I like the stat bonuses and the +1 to all skills in Arcanist, the +2 to Phantasmal Armor and +2 to BWC seems super out of place being abilities that barely benefit from the skill at all?
Wouldn’t this belt benefit from buffs to other skills like Arcane empowerment or Spectral Wrath or something?
I know it’s a pretty minor gripe, and the rest of what the belt offers is very nice in my opinion except maybe a lack of resistances, but I would just like to understand why it provides bonuses to these skills which are from classes that I can see no major reason to use on an elemental/aether build?
Although I would love for someone to explain and put me to shame of course, I would be completely missing the potential use of this.
Are you seriously complaining because one of the best generalist belts in the game isn’t narrowly tailored to your exact build?
There are lots of items. There are lots of builds. Not every item that happens to be useful for class X will be narrowly tailored to fit a given build of class X (it is literally impossible for that to happen too many class/build combos)
There are lots of generally useful Arcanist items that also give further boosts to Panetti builds, this one happens to be a generally useful item that gives further small to medium boosts to BWC sorcs and Spellbreakers.
Not complaining, I like the belt, I just didn’t know what builds would make use of it, It had never crossed my mind to do a BWC sorcerer to be honest, but it was the sharp variance in the bonuses that I found odd. Phantasmal Armor was the main one I found strange but I certainly wouldn’t want Crate to only cater to generic or specific builds, I like the variety.
Although I re-read my OP and can see the short sightedness of how I phrased it. Obviously for a specific Panettis belt scales of beronath is better for straight skill bonuses although I preferred this and got thinking what builds would make use of the skill bonuses it offers.
