Mythical Starcore Destroyer rework

Mythical Starcore Destroyer

The longer you look at this gun, the more you realise what everything is wrong with it.
What is wrong:

  • +2 to Occ is out of the place, just no reason to use occultist here, darkblaze pyromancer already exists.
  • Pierce → Fire conversion is also out of the place, If you are going for Purifier with this gun, you barely even use mods, and also get almost no skill bonuses.
  • No physical conversion to go for shieldbreaker.
  • No cold conversion to go for dreadnought, only way is to have 100% Avalanche, which is very expensive and basically unusable before very lategame.

Crit damage mod and +8% to OA are very nice and i can see this weapon can be used for a cool shieldbreaker/dreadnought build, but for now it really lacks critical stats.
Suggestions:

  • Remove cold → fire conversion from Avalanche
  • Add cold → fire conversion globally
  • Add physical - > fire conversion globally
  • Add more attack speed
  • Add +2 to some reasonable class for this gun, either Berserker, Demo or Oathkeeper
  • Some health in the stats would be also nice to see

Actually I was already doing a hybrid pet fire firestrike pyromancer with this one, and it is potentially great for that, so disagree, but it feels underpowered compared to stronghold set.

This is clearly not a purifier weapon, so not the issue, but physical conversion is better

agree with all of these, it needs buffs to compete with stronghold

Pierce to Fire for Bloodfangs conversion. Despite it having bleeding, it’s a decent ranged WPS as it fires two shots and has 100 % passthrough.

Fire conduit for Onslaught takes care of that part. Big question is, what’s your Onslaught spender. On Dreadnaught it could be CD BWC. On Zealot…I have no idea. Vire’s Might can’t be converted to Fire with a gun, Onslaught Conduit blocks Shard of the Eternal Flame. Judgment could work with Justice set gloves.

My issues with this gun are primarily:

  1. Awkward Onslaught spender on Zealot. Though maybe Onslaught is powerful enough without spender? Haven’t done enough testing yet, but I have my doubts for Fire Zealot specifically, cause of absence of second RR.
  2. Lack of phys to fire conversion. This prevents you from getting the rest of Smite’s damage over to fire. If not going for Fire Onslaught, you’re also unable to convert Righteous Fervor fully to fire (cause all local fire conversion sources are blocked by the gun, maybe there’s some global options). If going for Fire Strike, once again, phys to fire is missing, though Chaos to Fire is doable globally.

With the numbers it currently has that’s the reality. Just comparing it point for point with other default attack replacers - it’s potentially just too good without even bothering with the Onslaught stacks part of the skill.
