Necro disappointing

necro is okay but i havent test it out. Cabalist is a very popular choice right now and looks very strong imo.

Leveled all the way from 1 to 100 with skeletons (cabalist) without any serious issues. Damage was much better than traditional conjurer. My skeletons sometimes died but so what? I could always resummon them and i never lost all of them until i met kupacabra.

i don’t understand why people would complain about them dying when there is a cooldown reduction on the resummoning. :undecided:

resummoning all 9 takes time, and if you skeletons died your DPS is effectively reduced by 90%. Meanwhile other class still dishing out 100% of their DPS while you take time to resummon them.

You can only resummon 3 at a time (4 with lost soul items)

Necro is pure fan service. Its nice to play with It but afterall is just a revamped conjurer.

Inquisitor is pretty insane!

About your experience with Necro: the problem is your build, not the class.

Yes. Absolutely. Love it. Buuuut… it does play with it’s own distinct feeling both mechanic and theme. Or at least, for me it does.

Yes. Yes it is.

I’d have to agree with this based on endgame testing and current leveling. There’s just no reason to struggle with a necro pet build unless you are missing something in the build.

the Necro looks a little pigeonholed into pet builds (obvious) with Cabalist the most popular xpac build perhaps, and in a support role for Soldier (mostly) or Arcanist. Ritualist seems very close to Cabalist (pets and vitality dmg).

While Inqui there’s a ton of different builds, Purifier and Vindicator ranged are popular, Tactitians seems to have a lot of potentiality with different set up, i just saw an Ignaffar Deceiver which looked really fun to play…

I didn’t dig in the mastery enough (not talking about playing it myself ) so it may be wrong impressions, feel free to correct. but Inqui seems to openmore possibilities to the game than Necro right now.

One does not know the power of Aether death knight’s yet it seems

And aether builds in general. Apostate/Spellbinder

2hCold builds bone harvest/SS Reaper and 1h acid Reaper

The list could go on, but Necro is good really and so are all of the above combos

ok thank you for correcting my impressions and reassuring me

i knew about DK builds, Gibbly streamed a DW Aether DK a few days ago which was impressive. i hope you share your Reaper builds soon, the concept of the class is really cool but i’ve yet to see it actually work.

I agree with you here
While I have a Aether DK Concept posted here, I wish DK had it’s own set. I mean look at Battlemage? We (the community) started to make Battlemage work somehow and now it has some good dedicated items
DK is still using them same old shit, I mean I love performance but some diversity to gear is always welcome imo
To put it to perspective, look at physical Cadence S&B - it has Markovian and Warborn. Each have their own benefits
I want something similar for DK, not multiple sets but rather just one dedicated set would do (with bonuses that make sense)

fortunately the best mods on krieg set apply to soldier not arcanist. I think Krieg supports arcanist cause it needs it more than necro honestly

Ive seen people using Kreigs on DK to down ravager in 9 minutes O.o hows that not good?

I’ll re-iterate what many others have said. So far in my experience Necromancer needs to specialize to be good. I’m currently on level 52 as a Ritualist (Necro/Shaman) and she steam rolls over everything, bosses included. My devotions are anything that boosts pet damage/health/resistances like Bonds of Bysmiel, Staff of Rattosh and Panther to name a few. On gear you want stats that benefit minions first and you second if you’re playing a summoner. You’re not there to do damage or tank, you’re there to command an army. Also, if you’re going for summoner then you need to max out Blight Fiend ASAP as this will be the tank in your group. Seriously, with Rotting Fumes and Blight Burst he becomes an aggro magnet and your skeletons can get down to the business of killing instead of dying. On the Shaman side you want Devouring Swarm so you don’t feel completely left out of the action and you need something to proc Bonds of Bysmiel with anyway and Mogdrogon’s Pact will add some regen and health to your minions.

So far it’s a really fun build and I honestly don’t see Necromancer as weak at all. In fact, I find her rather the far opposite of weak.

So far so good. I really like skeletons AI. They’re doing great.

Ultimate Ravager in 9 minutes using Krieg’s set? I must’ve missed this

would love to see that too in action… cuz honestly the set is named after krieg so logically it should not be that strong unless he must have hidden something special under its sleeve

Or maybe at the brink of death he hid it in his pants

EDIT:

Found it, his aether resistance must be pretty shit if he died this easily

This. Aether DK can tank ravager. I just don’t see how anyone could complain about that. And spellbinder? Don’t get me started on what you can do in this game with Mirror/Mark on one toon that is utilizing CDR mechanics. Apostate is just so fun to play and fiddle with it’s still distracting me from other things. Don’t know about the rest but I’ll take your word for it, Superfluff.

Aether DK can tank Ravager of Souls, while it’s impressive I’d like to see it versus the other two. Ravager of Souls needs a buff imo. He is easy if you figure out his moveset. I hope they don’t nerf things based on that one video

I don’t disagree with anything you or fluff said though on Necro being good. Spellbinder’s aether support is insane :D. And two damage absorb skills make it OP
