Necromancer/Pet build please

Hey guys! I am looking for someone to provide me with a Necromancer-like / Pet build to play.

I would like it to be as fleshed out as possible. With stat and skill distribution along with devotion points.

I admit, I haven’t had a proper look in the builds sub-forum as of yet. I just got home and wanted to put the feelers out there as you guys that have been frequenting this forum a lot more than me recently may know if there is one clear winner for this build type.

I am wanting my pets to do all the work, with my character just sitting back and buffing/healing them.

I havent bought the Ashes of Malmouth expansion and I dont have anyone’s mods installed. That being said, I am not against installing someones mod if that is the clear winner when it comes to a Necro/Pet build.

Thank you all for your help! I look forward to seeing what is out there!

AFAIK no Ashes of Malmouth no Necro.
Else this one is as in depth as it gets the last time I was looking into Necro pet builds: http://www.grimdawn.com/forums/showthread.php?t=63153

Well, if you want to do a necro pet build I would recommend getting Ashes of Malmouth which expands pet builds quite a bit besides adding a ton of great content. It also adds the Necromancer class.

If you don’t want to get AoM, and based on what you said, I would look into something like the pre AoM lazy pokemon master combined with some of the info from Shiv’s demo/occultist pet build.

DaShiv’s night king build isn’t what this man is looking for, as he specifically said he wanted a build where he sits back and does nothing but buff.

However, @OP, you’re gimping yourself by trying this with a necro pet build. Skeletons are not hardy enough to last very long, and you will have to be consistently re-summoning them. It’s not conducive to the “lazy pokemon master” build that is more along the lines of shaman/occultist or something like that.

Thank you for the responses thus far. If I get the AoM expac, which build guide is then recommended?

Cheers!

Retaliation pet build seems to fit your requirements

Have you even played the build? My Necro was level 65 and the pets did 80-100k dps on average. The playstyle was very laid back and the guide is in depth about leveling and gear and has lots of information about pet mechanics to boost.

If you think there’s something better at least take the effort to link to it or deliver some facts before you complain about other people’s efforts.

Here are my Pet build

Endgame build:
Cabalist: - All Pet Resist 95% - Bleed resist 64 %

ps. No skeletons die. Only for some nemesis

Lmao. Here is my level 100 Cabalist.

Does that answer your question? Night King is absolutely not laid back if you are playing the build as DaShiv describes it. You are constantly throwing out abilities and resummoning skeletons. I happen to love playing it, do not get me wrong, but it simply didn’t fit what the OP described as wanting, IMO. There is no reason for you to get so riled up about it.

I did not have time to search the forums when I originally replied, but this was the build I had in mind, which is similar to NK, but much more laid back, having played both: The Unimaginative Skelemancer Cabalist.

Powermonger’s build falls into a trap. Skeletons are simply not as durable as other pets, so building for pet defense with a Necro pet build- thus obviously focused somewhat at least on Skeletons- is self-defeating and you will never be as good as other pet builds that have more durable pets.

See DaShiv’s section on “The Best Defense is a Good Offense” which explains why its pointlessly gimping yourself to put a great deal of defense onto skeletons.

I mean if you want to do that because you want your pets to not die and you still want to play a necro and its fun, then go for it. Just be aware you’re currently playing second fiddle to other pet builds that have more durable options for pets staying alive.

apoligies then, it seems I got the wrong impression about you after reading your first comment.

All good, mate.

So, is there a laid back pet build w/o 10 different skills to press every 15s ~.~? I dont care what kind of pet it is. I just want to summon all of them at the start of a session, then go on, pet kill everything, i “help” them out with some kind of “curse”, “buff” here and there, that’s it? Honestly, pet build in general stress me out more than most 1click default atk build.

Link for pet retaliation build(Conjurer), it wont be as fast as generic Cabalist but safe and laid back gameplay
