So I tried merging a couple of mods together but I cant get it to work, only modding I’ve ever done in the past was editing files in notepad so this stuff is kind of beyond me.
The mods in question are coronus and rebalanced levels. I dragged and dropped their files into a same folder, didnt get any pop ups about files with the same name so presumed it was all good. Opened up the asset manager thing and used the build function and then I get a shitton of errors, all under ‘records’ and all compaining about templates. But I cant even open any of the files it complains about due to these templates, I just get a blank table.
I decided to select the coronus mod before the merge and do a dummy build to see if the files copied over correctly or something, but that also came up with a fuck load of errors about templates, yet when I run the original mod before the dummy build or the merge it works fine?
I have no fucking clue what im doing wrong, or if perhaps I setted up the asset manager incorrectly, any help is appreciated.
Fuck. Thats harsh man. But check http://www.grimdawn.com/forums/showthread.php?t=48137 this out. I struggled also with merging some mods together and finally I managed to do it. Jiaco’s instructions were helpful on that topic I linked
edit // I checked that rebalanced levels mod and looks like it just adds more skillpoints per level, right? You can do it easier way. No need to merge mods together. Just open asset manager. Open mod you want to edit. Choose database on Sources, Assets, Database section. Under that check if there is path records --> creatures --> pc --> playerlevels.dbr. Double click playerlevels.dbr and choose level up parameters. There double click skillmodifierpoints and set for example 5 points. Then press set --> apply —> ok and then build pc folder.
Try to import the file using asset manager. So open asset manager. Choose coronus mod --> database --> records --> creatures --> pc --> right mouse click and choose import. Import playerlevels.dbr from grim dawn default folder for example c:\GD\database\records\creatures\pc and modify that playerlevel.dbr
