2nd char now (this one is a bleed trix) and they both have horrid resists at end game. I see people’s pictures of close to 80 across the board and I just don’t get it. I may have 1 or 2 close to 80 but I have several beneath 20 and some close to zero in Ultimate.
My gear is actually pretty good, half blues/half legs. I am using resist augs and comps (generally).
Do I have to switch to gear that is far less useful for damage and focuses on major resists? If so, what pieces like that are there?
I don’t think I am just missing something, but I don’t understand how I can have such low resists, with pretty good gear, compared to others who hit 80 across in their pictures. I always assume the pictures are while they are suffering from the -50 in Ultimate (if not then that explains everything, but I doubt that’s it).
Switching out some gear pieces is a good way to go. Especially if you pick some good constellations with high offense. On my AAR sorcerer I which out soulbinder’s chains, which are awesome for AAR builds for sash of immortal sage which has awesome resists! Also I used Golemborn greaves, which is a common defensive boot… Was able to max all by bleed (50%), slow (10%) and poison (64%)… took a while with experimenting… make sure if an augment over caps one resist you remove it… I found I was having that issue and it would take some rebalancing with new pieces…
Till you get some better stuff sacrifice some damage for resists, you will end up doing more dps with high res and lower damage than low res and higher damage
This has the components and Augments with amount
Post you char screen if you need help tuning up resists
Yea, also, build scrap-gear. It has an enhanced odds of rolling Rare modifiers, and some rare Resistance modifiers are insane, like Stonehide, granting you 3 30%+ values for some harder to obtain resistances.
You cant get bleeding resist easily. You should equip certain legendaries/rares to get is capped, or stack a lot of rare with kinda rare mods (such as Stonehide). But dont worry - bleed resistance isnt really needed, you can survive ultimate even without having it capped.
To get good resists, you should not just have some “random” rares/legendaries, but actually GOOD ones, prefferable with both resists and DPS stats on them. Most of rare mods are junk, only few are powerful and desired.
My friend, if you don’t plan to farm Fabius, Gutworm and Boris to the point of nausea you don’t really need more than 60% bleed resist on Ultimate. There are really very few enemies that do massive bleed DoTs (e.g. some ghouls, some special shaleborns, Ilgorr, Kalis Ka, etc.).
I have a lot of characters that have >90% bleed resist on ultimate and I can tell you it is much less important than chaos and vitality if you want to finish the game with 0 deaths. If you really want it, however, you have several options:
(1) Get the Vulture constellation - this is generally a bad option.
(2) Craft a Tinker’s Ingenuity and get a massive roll on it. I had rolls as high as 65%, for example.
(3) Get Empowered Legplates of Valor - this is actually not an option, this is a BiS item.
(4) Craft your gear at Horus, the Cursed Smith in the Necropolis (thank me later )
