Need some help with Devotions for 2h lightning druid

Hi all,

As title suggest, I’m looking for a devotion set up. I will be playing Campaign with a buddy, I’ve heard that Crucible devotions can sometimes differ from Capaign devotions. I’ve browsed through builds on the forum, but a lot of them are specced for crucible. So, if anyone could help me with a levelling guide for the devotions for this class combo I would be super grateful.

Currently deciding on a second damage type, but it seems like the shaman class mostly plays around Lightning / Bleed /, esp the 2h tree.

Sorry if this has been asked before, not at home and didn’t have time to check all the threads, just a few pages really.

PS: Is it worth it to spec into wendigo totem and feral hunger for some sustain? Or can I achieve the same sustain through devotions.

Thanks so much in advance guys!:)

Widow is a must, Rhowan’s Crown is also recommended. I usually take Kraken, Viper, and Solemn Watcher as well. Here’s a devotion tree that I might use for a lightning based character.

Red Crossroads, viper 1-4, green crossroads, Quill 1-4, Scholar’s Light 1-3, Blue Crossroads, Widow 1-6, Kraken 1-5, Solemn Watcher 1-5, Purple Crossroads, Rhowan’s Crown 1-5, tempest 1-2, ghoul 1-5, remove crossroads blue, red, green, Chariot 1-7, right half of Ultos (not the chaos resist node unless you need it), Toad 1-3

The logic is that you grab elemental RR and lightning RR with widow and crown, big buffs to 2handing with kraken, defense from solemn watcher, lightning damage from tempest and ultos, life steal from ghoul and toad, and offense from chariot.

Others may have different preferences but this is my two cents.

Crucible builds are most probably the best builds you can use. Crucible is the hardest challenge in the game so far, except superbosses. Any Crucible build can tear through campaign with ease.

You can use this setup:

Thank you so much! May I ask why you only put 2 points in tempest? The skill seems quite good. Also, how would you go about setting the devotion skills to your class skills ?

Thank you! While I appreciate your suggestion, my point about Crucible, is more that a lot of people use mods to give them the items required for builds to be viable. For instance, your grimtools link is all legendary BiS gear I suppose. We want to play self found.

2 points in tempest gets you the flat lightning damage from star 2.

Theoretically, you would already have a lot of % damage buffs to lightning and electrocute so a buff to flat damage is significantly more important in my eyes than the % bonus from stars 3, 5, and 6. Star 4 is not great unless you need the lightning resist to balance otherwise unbalanced elemental resistances. The proc is pretty good, but has no weapon damage component and therefore will not be as powerful as other abilities that make use of your powerful 2hander, as well as not providing lifesteal from your adcth

Hey, man, Ultos Druid is my first character and my first guide. I have recently updated it and I believe I min-maxed it to death now. You can check it out here. It’s very strong and doesn’t require any green items to work.

Devotion map is different from Veteragna’s Ultos Warder, because I specifically tailored it for Druid (needed to compensate for lack of attack speed and DA on Druid).

This does not affect the devotion route. Do you want lightning? Here it is

Btw legendary gear is the most easy gear to get except faction items. Legendary items are golden standard of theorycrafting since they are standard and don’t rely on particular player’s self found gear.
One can open such build, ask for items in a trading thread and make his own one from scratch in minutes, because these items are standard and understandable for other community members.
But, if you ask for double-rare MI item in trading thread, no one will reply most probably, these items are non-standard and extremely hard to get.
Hope this helps

for 2-hander as stated above, maybe understated,…Kraken is a must. I’d probably start building towards it right away.
