Nemesis bosses don't drop all blueprints

Hello, it’s been a while since I last posted.

I’m curious if you know more about the blueprints that nemesis drop. It would appear that Nemesis bosses do not carry every blueprint. I started farming the new chthonic boss days ago. I have over 60 warrants, to give you an idea of how many times I’ve killed him. When i started out, I had only a couple blueprints and he dropped a blueprint every time.

What he does drop (237 total): High end relics (levels 70 and 90), high end components (levels 75 and 90), and all legendary blue prints (levels 50-94, although very few below level 94. Oddly, he hasn’t dropped any level 75’s that I recall, but he dropped a level 50).
What he doesn’t drop: magic, rare and epic, consumable recipes, and low end components/relics.

Level 94 blueprints are my goal and I track those specifically. There are 100 level 94 blueprints. As I continued to farm him, he started dropping them less often. Once I had 40 of them, it was taking 15-20 kills before he’d drop another one. However, once I had 60 of them, he stopped dropping any blue prints. I’ve killed him 52 times since then and he hasn’t dropped another. I don’t mean he stopped dropping just level 94 blueprints, he has stopped dropping blueprints of any level.

I switched to other nemesis bosses and they also do not drop blueprints. I’m at a loss now as to what to farm to get the remaining 40 level 94 blue prints.

I read that the system will roll to see which blue print will drop. If it’s one you already have, it rolls again. If it’s still one you already have, nothing will drop. This seemed to hold true until the last drop, but the absence of any new ones since over 50 kills ago, means to me he’s out of them.

I still need 32% of the blue prints overall and 40% of the level 94’s. If he really had all blueprints, I would still be getting drops every third or fourth kill. My conclusion is I have all that he and other nemesis bosses can drop.

I switched to elite and started killing him and he’s dropping blueprints, but so far no higher than level 75. The fact that the elite version is dropping every time confirms that I exhausted every blueprint the ultimate version has to drop.

I could provide a list of the level 94 blueprints he hasn’t dropped if anyone wants to confirm if a nemesis dropped them for him or not.

Interesting. Don’t have enough data from nemesis kills to confirm or deny any of this but I will keep it in mind over the next week to compare.

This would be nice, I can at least look through my own collection and see if I get the same result.

Eldritch Gaze and Covenant of the Three drop from the last boss of the Hidden Path quest.

I’ve got some on your list but I don’t remember if I’ve found them in Nemesis troves or not.

The Covenant and Eldritch don’t drop from normal sources, purely from the final boss of hidden path.

I can’t speak to what Nemesis bosses are/are not capable of dropping, but between the AoM release and now the rest of the BPs in the list definitely dropped from either a Nem, Cruci, treasure troves, or Roguelike dungeons.

Maybe all of these drop from specific bosses?

I’m most interested in Mythical Necrolord’s Gaze. Do you know if a specific boss drops that or a specific dungeon?

I just find it odd that i’d been getting 1 or 2 bp’s per 20 runs, then suddenly I haven’t gotten any in 52 tries (55 now). Maybe there are different rarity tiers and I got all the common ones?

No, most of these are definitely random. Have you considered the reason you aren’t getting (frequent) blueprint drops from Nems anymore is that A) The remaining level appropriate blueprints are rare ones and B) Lower level ones seem to have a reduced (but not removed) drop chance at lvl 100?

Interesting. How do I know their rarity?

I’ve received 60 level 94 blueprints so far and the remaining level 94’s I thought would come up as frequently. I’m not really interested in those below level 94.

Same way as other items, color coded. In this case looking at the output item or the graphic of the recipe scroll in your inventory (not the name, but the actual scroll picture)

ALL the ones you posted are legendary, hence rare.

Sure, that’s true for normal random drops. But the guaranteed blueprint drops… are you saying that those take some sort of weighting into account? Never heard of that before.

I know they are legendary, but the 60 i got so far dropped 1 or 2 times per 20. how are the 40 level 94’s I haven’t gotten any different fromt he 60 I have? they should be the same, they are all lvl 94 legendary items.

1-2 times per 20 means you were likely approaching a 5% chance or so to get a valid drop per kill, and each drop further reduces that chance. At sub 5% rates going 50ish kills without a bug isn’t necessarily a bug, just bad luck.

I don’t have the numbers right here, but I would guess that with 40+ remaining possible drops not getting anything 50+ times in a row is … rather unlikely.

Will do some proper calculations on this once I get some time.

That would help. You can see from my list I posted which remain. I’ve killed the new chth nemesis boss 55 times since the last time he dropped. Not just level 94’s, but any blue print at all. I have all 107 components and all the relics. I have all but 25 of the legendary blue prints below level 94.

Here’s the exact break down of legendary relics:

You cant say not all blue prints drop from nemises because its rng, duh.

Consider also that when I bought Legendary items from the blacksmith in the steel district, there were certain shoulder armor pieces he never sold. In the last update, they said they fixed a bug that prevented those shoulders from being sold. This could also be a bug, with certain blueprints that this particular, or all nemesis bosses, aren’t dropping.

I’ve over 60 warrants from grava’thul on ultimate. He’s only dropped legendary and upper level components/relics.

He’s never once dropped an epic, magic or rare bp. He’s never dropped a recipe for a consumable.

After 60 warrants worth of kills, he would not have a 0 rate of something he could drop.

For him to go from dropping level 94 blue prints 1 or 2 times every 20 kills, to suddenly nothing after 55 more kills, something had to have changed. I either exhausted all he had to offer, or the remaining level 94 bp’s were somehow scaled to be more far rare than the level 94 bp’s I’d already received.

There had been no jumps like that from when I started. When I started and had no level 94 bp’s, he dropped every kill. It was a very gradual change over time to the 1 or 2 per 20 kills when I got my 60th.

It is not like I still need only 2% of the bp’s. I still need 40%. I could understand if the drop occurred at 2%, but not at 40%.

Also consider that the % of level 75 legendaries I need is even smaller than the % of 94 legendaries I need. When I go to elite mode, Grava’thul has dropped level 75 bp’s 7 out of 12 times.

You could graph this. Over the course of 60 level 94 bp’s I’ve received, you could draw a very straight line from 100% drop rate to 7.5% drop rate, then the rate drops off to 0%. It’s been over 60 kills now. In the previous 60 I had about 6 drops.
