Sofar i’ve killed Nemesis’s a few times today and yesterday after starting
to farm them again, and i’ve yet to get any loot of higher grade then
Empowered blues… what up with that?.
This is a screenshot directly from my last kill of the Undead Nemesis,
it would be fair to say i was disappointed. And this is how the loot has been
when killing them for the past 2 days since i started farming them again.
Certain nemeses have nerfed loot tables due to farmability (forget exactly which ones). I’m not sure I agree with that, because farmable or not, nemeses are tough hombres, but there’s plenty of other things to farm so meh.
Tables only changed for Nemeses that are easier to find:fabius, Maiden and Zantarin. Just a bit lowered.
You killed Moose there i see. So about Nemeses rewards, they are not allways worth chasing. I don’t know if you were speciffically chasinge Moose or just dropping by to see if he’s there as part of your farming route but it’s not worth chasing him all over the place.
You are also Elite which is best for farming recipies for relics and a few good Items but not high tier legendary items. If you are gonna farm Nemeses I recommend Fabius + Cronley on the side.
Afaik, the chest from non-human nemesis bosses, such as Moose here, are only guaranteed to drop at least a blue item and a recipe. Human ones aren’t even guaranteed to drop a blue or a recipe, but since it takes like 2-3 minutes to find Fabius I guess it’s to be expected…
Sometimes the blue is replaced by a purple, but that is very far from being the norm. From personal experience it’s much less than 50% chance to get a legendary drop. I usually get far more legendaries from the heroes, bosses and higher quality chests on the way to find Fabius and Moose than from the nemeses themselves.
And while the recipe drop is guaranteed, if it drops one you already know it will be invisible. The only way to pick up extra scrolls for trading from your nemesis kills is via the “pick up” keymap.
Is there some other way to “unhide” the drop? I have a severe shortage of storage space on all 7 of my toons and I only hoard legendaries and really-really good rares.
Grim Dawn have shit loads of items to hoard, so I will recommend create mules to store all your loots.
My current mules:
3 for rings, medals and amulets
1 for Greens
9 for Set Items
10 for Weapons
10 for Armors
The hoarder in me started collection loots since Build 18 which is the reason why I have so many mules.
My usual mule creation route, if you are interested:
1.Talk to Captain John Bourbon to activate quest, “Waking to Misery”
2. Choose Demoltionist as your first class (Allocate all skills points to fire strike). Speed run all the way to Burial Hill to kill Kyzogg the Reanimator. Do not have to stop for anything in between.
3. Talk to Captain John Bourbon to activate quest, “Helping Out”
4. Get some funds to buy 11 scraps in the Crucible mode
5. Help Barnabas with the Water Pump and kill Viloth the Corruptor in the Prison Dungeon (Reward 1 side inventory)
6. Repair the bridge and speed run to Staunton Mine, Arkovian Foothills. Grab and dash to collect the dynamite to blow up the barricade in the quest, “Clearing the Way”
7. Talk to Bernard at the Rover Camp in the Arkovian Foothills to get 2nd side inventory slot
Uhh, Ultimate has a higher legendary drop rate. So you’ll get more in Ultimate than on Elite.
I decided to farm Cronley for his ring and ran into Fabius around 6 or 7 times. His trove drops don’t feel that different from Valdaran or Moose. I got around 5 legendaries, some of them level 75 ones.
Overall, their troves are dissapointing, I don’t expect them to drop legendary sets items all the time, but having a better and higher quality drop rate would definitely makes things better.
Yeah, that can definitely happen, but on the other hand it has happened to me more than once to drop 2 legandaries from a single Nemesis chest. And they are still the best source of relic blueprints, if you haven’t found all of them yet.
