Nemesis drops in Crucible and SR

In light of the new set that is exclusive to the Rogue Dungeons which made the MC feel slightly more rewarding to those who prefer it over SR and Crucible. I’ve been thinking if something should be done about the Nemesis MIs as well.

I got the idea from this post -

Zantai most likely wouldn’t want to do it as if you follow the post he admits it would piss people off. But I was curious what you guys think about it.

There are three ways this can be done -

  1. Make nemesis MIs exclusive to the main campaign like the Kaisan MI apparently and add some Crucible exclusive set.

  2. The MIs drop from both the crucible and the MC but the MC drops have higher chances of rolling double rare affixes.

  3. No change at all!!

I personally feel like Nemesis MIs should be exclusive to the MC. But that’s because I am heavily biased and always prefer the MC over other game modes. Plus if they add a Crucible exclusive set then it’s a win-win for everyone (I suppose) :stuck_out_tongue:

No change if it comes down to those options, but I wouldn’t mind if Nemesis hunting was changed a bit. The ~5-10 mins of searching and loading through areas followed by a 10s fight is not appealing to me.
I’ve been doing Kaisan for a while and I wish the ratio between action and searching was more balanced.

Something like an NPC that gives you a tip and narrows down the boss location would be very welcome, or one of the other things that have been suggested before such as the Nemesis spawning in your zone (“you kill our guys, I come kill you.”)

Main reason to farm crucible and shards are nemesis MI
I don’t want to spent 10.000 hours to find a single nemesis in their spawn locations in MC.

thats why I always advocated for the “Ultra Nemesis Tier”. a special category where not only nemesis get increased stats but also improved double rare drop rates, chance to spawn “nemesis partner” ( all factions will have 2 nemesises) and chance to hunt you down even when you are in town busy doing your shopping:cool:

I don’t see the reason for punishing people that actually like to play mostly Crucible or prefer Cruci for farming. Crucible farming is an efficient way to get Nemesis MIs and it should stay that way. Removing MIs would result in the Cruci being borderline useless, especially for long-term players.

Voted for 2: don’t change too much the current system, so people that farm SR/Crucible are not pissed off, but make farming Nemesis on campaign more worth, so better loot (more chances to drop rare affixes).

Voted for 3, I don’t really understand the reasoning. Let people play the mode they enjoy most, and limit the exclusive drops. MC Nem farming is already better for targeted farming, since Cruci and SR MI tables are bloated.

I enjoy MC for what is it, a more relaxed, targeted experience. And while I don’t enjoy Cruci, I wouldn’t think of removing toys from people that do enjoy it.

If Anything, I’d vote for :
4. Include Kaisan’s amulet into Cruci and SR loot table.

Really, I don’t understand, what’s the goal? Make MC more attractive? Why? Almost all my friends that play quite casually are mainly MCers, you need a bit of a hardcore mindset to dabble in Cruci and SR.

Don’t get skewed by the usual forumites, they don’t represent the majority of players, but a portion that is passionate and quite active, with everything pertinent, and not-so-much, that comes with it.

Edit : upon reflexion, I can get behind option 2. My vote was a bit of a harsh reject of change. That being said, I definitely don’t want 1, even though I am more of a MCer. Don’t remove toys from others. Ask for a few toys for yourself, but not at the cost of other’s pleasure.

I play 95% MC and voted 1.

The reason is because I often feel overwhelmed by the amount of Nemesis MI that drop for just 10 minutes of SR, which is the same time it take to hunt down 1 (!) Nemesis in MC if your unlucky or hunting Benn.

I also agree with people saying not to take away their rewards for the other game modes. So I’d say, reduce the amount of MI drops in SR/C by maybe 50% and also reducing the amount of spawnpoints for some harder to find Nemesis in MC could be a good middleway.

I’d vote to either remove them from SR or just give them a very low chance to drop but a guaranteed rare affix. Guaranteed double rare might be just too much, but we can try, if Crate says yes.

I didn’t open this poll to penalize crucible or SR players. I mean yes I am heavily biased towards MC but my actual intention was to simply make nemesis hunting in MC more worthwhile. Spikenik and Weyu cover the basic problems with the nemesis system in the MC right now. It’d be great if something was done to improve it.

The poll options were just off the top of my head to kick-start the discussion itself. I only want the negative faction rep grind and nemesis hunt to feel more rewarding. Whatever form that takes I’m game.

Can’t see any need to remove the poll. It gives an indication of how people feel about the different options. The fact that there’s no clear “winner” doesn’t invalidate it.

Either way is good, just keep Nemesis availability and their drop quality balanced.

If the goal is to encourage champaign map play, maybe do something with bounty system, increase their spawn rate on bounty paths, direct Nemesis bounties with guaranteed spawn etc. Or the classic ARPG way: grinding keys to Nemesis mini room that players get to fight the most dangerous version of them.

I would not mind Nemesis MI being limited to only the campaign if nemesis such as Benn’Jahr, Valdaran and Aleksander where easier to find. They are way too much of a pain to farm currently. They also should make the reputation of Iron Maiden/Zantarin and Fabius a bit easier to get.

A simple solution would be adding a Bounty for every Nemesis (well simple for us but i guess much harder for the Devs :stuck_out_tongue: ). You can “spoil” yourself where the nemesis spawns if you want and farm them that way. No one gets hurt, Farming them in the MC would be easier.

Making MC content more appealing is always a + for me, but I’d definitely do so without taking anything out of the other gamemodes.

Interesting thing is that I’ve got some of my best AoM nemesis items from farming 100-150 where you don’t have them spawning at all.But with SR and 170 you don’t have incentive to farm them in campaign.Ofc if you have to kill Alex for his pants in all the tight areas and multiple spawn points it will unpleasant experience.

Cruci farming will still be unaffected, and probably still be more efficient.

But it’d help MC players tremendously.

Honestly boost the double rare roll would be a really nice reward for hunting them in main campaign. It is hard enough to get a double rare and almost impossible for good rolls of your class.
