Greetings fellow Taken.
tl;dr see my suggestion down below
I’ve returned recently to Grim Dawn, currently trying new class combos. I was on an errand for Anasteria in the Chaos Bastion that nearly made me eat my mouse in frustration. I had Benn’Jahr spawning almost every single attempt, which resulted in a one-shot kill. Finally, I managed to escape down to the next level, leaving the evil Nemesis behind. Nonetheless, it was a frustrating, nail biting experience.
I do understand that a lot of people like the new Nemesis mechanic. It’s perfectly fine, as farming them was a chore in the past.
On the other hand, I also read that some players were struggling with too many Nemesis encounters, especially at earlier stages. One suggestion is, to kill monsters in a side area, make the Nemesis spawn, and return to the main path without being bothered. I find this idea alright. Since there’s no easy way to tell how many monsters I have to kill, I started thinking about how this could be worked around.

Maybe add some sort of indicator as to when a Nemesis is about to spawn. It could be a bar, or some sort of jar, filling up as you go. Or it could be a ring around the mini-map. To distinguish the different types of Nemeses, the indicator could be color coded, or, having color blind people in mind, the indicator could just grow in intensity.
And for those that love the thrill of surprise, the ‘Nemesis-Meter’ might be an option to be checked in the settings.
Since Xmas is coming up, I’d like this to be an early request for my Xmas present.
