Nemesis MI Drops Discussion

Yeah. And with AI now being a thing with random posters, never these forums needed a user block feature as much as now.

i read half the gnomish discourse with ai … :stuck_out_tongue: and asked somemore stuff n got a somewhat answer on game content management

Why do they all have too be the same? Some are always easier to get to, because they drop from early game bosses. Some builds need specific legendary drops that are very rare/hard to get to. Not everything is equal.

True. Considering this I didn’t dare to ask why the new ones’ drop rates are lower :scorv:

God I hope not.

Generally, target farming Nemesis MIs in MC is vastly superior, especially after the changes to Nemesis spawn behavior a while ago. It’s not even close. There are other concerns, though: Since a lot of people probably side with Barrowholm in MC (for the augments), Reaper simply doesn’t spawn in MC and the only sources for Reaper MIs are SR and CR. The same goes for other faction-specific Nemesis bosses.

I also disagree with the notion that the drop rates for old MIs in SR should be toned down. Because of the aforementioned reason, MC is just better anyway. Why should SR enjoyers be punished? The current drop rates don’t break anything.

Sound bad than arrivals of Glorious Dawn.
Unneeded future #1.

If we’re talking about MC relevance, I’d like to have SR-exclusive stuff, well, not SR-exclusive anymore. The main focus of new expansion is MC farming, right? I never really liked SR (partially for poor performance), and it hurts my soul that I have to farm it for endgame movement runes and these 3 sets that don’t drop anywhere else and can’t be crafted.

The focus was to make farming in the main campaign actually worth it, while not completely replacing SR. So i doubt the SR sets and rune blueprints are being made to drop in the main campaign. It’s clear the devs want both to be viable to farm loot, and still have their own specific items.

This is because there is no alternative, if we dont wan’t the first boss in a1 to randomly drop all MIs in the game some builds unfortunately need to have a harder time getting their desired MIs, this is a natural difference because certain bosses/enemies are positioned in a way where its harder/takes longer to get to.

In the SR scenario the loot you get at the end of a run is already random, right now some builds just have an easier time farming their MI in SR for no apperant reason.

I know theres many examples of certain builds having harder to get items but I feel like devs should try to balance/equalize things where it makes sense. In my opinion it makes sense for every MI to have same drop chance in SR so that certain builds don’t get more rewards out of doing SR.

The Reaper’s Chausses example I gave earlier is especially a good one, why is this item rarer than a similar nemesis MI pants in SR?

If anything Reaper’s Chausses needs to have higher chance to drop than other MIs because this comes from a Nemesis that doesn’t even spawn if you go friendly with Barrowholm, for some builds SR is the only source of acquiring this item.

It can be as easy as “because devs want people to play the new expansion content, not continue farming SR”.

And that might mean that in a later patch they’ll up the drop rate in SR, or they might not.

And not all builds are meant to be 100% equal in everything, so it’s kind of an arbitrary requirement, ain’t it?

In order to spawn ‘Reaper of Rot’ you need to kill enemies in AoM areas no (since its Barrowholm nemesis)? I could understand that reasoning if the new nemesis only spawned from FoA monsters/areas but that is not the case, they aren’t even encouraging you to play the new content by doing this.

Ohh, I should’ve done my homework I guess

This is disingenuous. You can’t pick one single thing (although there is a quest early on that sends you there for a bit) and use that as an example to try and say ‘playing the new content’ is not what the devs want us to focus on.

It is.

All of this stuff you want in your SR runs and are mad because the newer stuff is slightly less emphasized in it is because SR is years old. I can 100% guarantee you that once they feel FoA has had it’s ‘moment in the spotlight’ those drop numbers will get reworked again to even them out.

I’m not sure why the concept of the devs, after putting a f*-ton of work into this expansion, wanting to get people (new and old) to spend a bit more time in it for a little while is so hard to understand.

Seriously, sometimes the best explanation is the simplest.

I’m not saying that devs aren’t encouraging people to play the new content. They obviously are.

I’m saying that this change:

Can’t be because they want people to engage with the new content, because it doesn’t make sense. The ‘Reaper of Rot’ that we were talking about, and many other new nemesis items have nothing to do with FoA content. You don’t farm the new nemesis only in FoA areas or something.

As I said

You might want to actually read and understand my point before calling it disingenuous.

I am NOT saying “Potion modifiers that drop only from Beronaths chest should drop from SR so you can farm everything in the game by doing SR and have no reason to do FoA content”. I don’t understand why people interpret my point as such.

Yes, it can. Both the iterations of that quote by Zantai are for The Crucible and SR. Two things that are part of the OLDer game. THAT is the only place that newer MIs are more rare.

Because they want you in FoA farming those MIs, to live in the new stuff they spent years creating and getting ready. That INCLUDES old timers who just want to get the cool new stuff but continue to just make SR runs.

You really don’t understand that?

I don’t understand the Mi issue. SR Mi’s were always just a bonus; it’s way more efficient to target farm them in the MC, nothing changes.

literally new content…
you’re mistaking new content as “in the new maps”, not new bosses, drops etc…
New nemesis are new, doesn’t matter if you farm them in an old area, they themselves are content/bosses etc are content, not just maps.

Can you please tell me which zone in FoA I can farm the new Barrowholm Nemesis (Reaper of Rot) in?
