New Class

The spirit of Diablo is strong with this one.

Too bad it died in Blizzard though

No but reading through all this, while it all sounds awesome. The options i gave aren’t very diverse but are based on existing lore, i didn’t want my imagination to get in the way which is why i gave you “Something Else” option.
Adding new lore for a new class isn’t hard. But how do you explain Dual Wielding Shields?

“One day one of the Imperium’s forces saw one of the beastkin- An Ancient Armadillo. The hardness of it’s shell was useful in protecting the creature from any harm, but it served an unusual purpose. On that fateful day was born- the Armadillo Man!”

**I am up for Necromancer, DW-Ranged class, 1-Melee+1-ranged Class, Inquisitor. Since all of them can have some sort of sensible lore.

Not to bash anyone but i simply don’t have intellectual capacity to fathom a sensible lore regarding a mastery that uses shield as weapons. As awesome as it sounds i simply can’t see it.

I am still surprised Necromancer is lagging behind. I can understand why people don’t want that. But to those who voted for the Inquisitor what do you imagine that class would be like?

My guess Priest/Paladin type

Pet classes aren’t for everyone and they just added one would be my guess.

Yeah. Plus Necromancer is one of the mainstream ARPG classes. Literally everyone loves it, including myself. But Necromancer is in the works but it won’t be what we expect it to be.

Isn’t Shaman pretty much a barbarian the way it is conceived?

Necromancer and Inquisitor out of this list I think.

I’d love a Shape shifter but that would also go into Shaman.

Apparently their engine won’t support a shapeshifter.

I wonder considering the technological feats in the world of Cairn. Is an Engineer class even possible?

An engineer - who uses crafty contraptions and mechanical critters to do the fighting for him. I don’t think it would fit here since such class befits a more of steam-punk setting

It has been done, and exceptionally well, by this gentleman Koba0100

As far as know a mod with engineer has already been made.

Pretty cool idea. Nice turets and contraptions. Reminds me of TL2.

EDIT: Didn’t see the above post. Sorry. What he said

Some sorta hybrid like paladin/cleric type class would be neat. That and a necromancer type class.

  • Some type toggle on the paladin/cleric type class that gives you buffs based on the number of enemies around you. And more lightning damage for casters. Some “holy” type spells that do phys + lightning damage.

  • Necromancer would have to be distinctly different than Occultist. Even though Occultist already has some moves one might expect would fit in with a Necromancer class as well. I’m thinking maybe some sort of “blood magic” where the cost for some skills is based on HP instead of energy, and skills that cost HP to use have a life leech effect. Several of their moves could be based around that idea. Maybe throw in a couple pet types. Like a skeleton knight, and something that lets you revive certain mobs that’s duration based and on a CD.

I just hope Crate make the Necromancer a class that can induce a sense of dread into his other worldly adversaries. His mere presence should sends chills down the spines of both friends and foes. His loyalty constantly under question, his methods constantly scrutinized but his results unchallenged.

Basically a lot Frost based attacks, a cool blue color aura and of course raise the dead.

Necromancers been done to “death” in other games leave it for modders, feel a different class would be good! Like the idea of dual wield pistol/blade! Thinking pirate/outlaw with skills like cannonade, smoke bombs, grappling hooks? Something away from the normal tropes! Shouldn’t be trying to be diablo 2, grim dawn is grim dawn!

I like hybrids, such as Rangers, able to fight from range or to tank somewhat.
So at now I play a blademaster, but I’m not fond of the dark arts, I prefer a more nature (monster lore?) oriented background.

I’ve never played a Diablo game :o. I was considering Diablo 2 a few months ago as an alternative to Torchlight 2 (before Grim Dawn filled that hole) but I decided against it.

It seems that the necromancer is rising in the ranking, jajaja. In TQ we ran out of this class and to play it you had to install a mod. I have the hope that is included in this game, being one of the most charismatic characters for rpg game. But if in the end the developers decide not to include it, I guess they will have their reasons for not doing so and opt for a different class.

Ah well, i would recommend you to try it. But Grim Dawn works just as well. Remember though Diablo I and II are the only games, after that a game was shit out by some idiots who aren’t even remotely linked with the original game as that one disbanded to make other games (many of which were unfortunate disasters) including good ones like Torchlight and Marvel… something (?)

Isn’t Spirit Mastery basically Necromancer in TQ?

Nah. While i agree Grim Dawn shouldn’t try Diablo II things. A Necromancer is simply something almost everyone wants. And why can’t they make their own mark on this character? Maybe they make it so differently that it plays differently than the Diablo Necromancer but still feels awesome.

I like the Pirate/Outlaw idea, it’s anew one in this thread.

But seriously the developers have previously shown interest in this class, i’d be disappointed if they back off or rename it at the last second.

P.S Trying out Pokemon Go, the game is called pretty good but i can’t even conncect to the bloody server. Can Nintendo get anything right for Christ’s sake? Didn’t they expect this kind of load on the server, this level of lack of planning is unacceptable from a company of their stature.

It’s not even close
