"new" desktop

Well my B-day was 2 days ago, and my GF ordered me a new desktop (surprised she picked this out) and it should be here by next friday

I know its not the best however, i currently play on a dell Inspiron 15 with an AMD A6 Apu @ 1.8 Ghz, 8GB ram, and a slow 500Gb HDD @ 5400 RPM :o

So this is a HUGE upgrade for me, and i plan on upgrading over the next year to get the specs more up to date.

Anyways its a Cyberpower.
Has a black Cooler Master case with blue fan LED’s
Back lit usb 3.0 Cyberpower keyboard
Cyberpower usb 3.0 gaming mouse
8 usb ports, 3 x 3.0, 5 x 2.0
Windows 10
AMD FX 4300 quad core @ 3.8 Ghz with some sort of turbo boost
Nvidia GTX 950 Gpu
8 Gb ddr4 ram at like 2000 something Mhz
1Tb Western Digital HDD @ 7200 Rpm
600 W Psu
the MoBo i know is AMD but i can remember the model.
An asus wireless adapter, again i forget the exact model
I also forget exactly how many Pci slots it has but i believe 3
And a decent 1 year parts and labor warranty

Anyways should be a really nice present and play games a lot better than my current laptop. I’m really looking forward to next week when i get it. Ill probably be getting a SSD for the OS by next month or so and as time goes on like i said will be upgrading everything over the next year.

All i know is i’m excited

Hell yeah that’s a huge upgrade. Doesn’t need to be the best but it sure beats the snot outta what you had.

I know right, i cannot wait to see the performance difference with GD and DKS 1 and 3 (honestly dont even know how i got DKS 3 to ā€œrunā€ on my laptop).

All i know is I’m stoked, i’d share a link to the build but i don’t have her email info to find the exact one, maybe later i can post it when she gets home.

She deserves a nice dinner out at a fancy restaurant.

Yes she does, and she will. I’m planning something really nice for her B-Day in a month.

Congrats, ARNGE. You’re lucky.

Thanks man! Yeah i know I’m extremely lucky, i did not expect this.

Couple of days late however, it’s running fantastic so far

Could not be happier. really nice B day present.

Just had to say this… well because i can

That’s awesome, arnge! Super happy for you bud!

As has already been said, definitely do something really great for your girlfriend. That was a really thoughtful and generous gift!

Again, stoked for you bud! Enjoy the new beast!

Syn

Thanks man!

Her birthday is coming up within a month and she is going to get a really nice present. Im currently working on getting the funds for it right now.

On another note, GD feels like its on crack, i only played for a few minutes but damn my fps is sooo much better. It’s like playing in fast forward. :stuck_out_tongue:

Best be careful if playing on Hardcore, bud!

I’m taking a break from GD and started a HC MF Sorceress in Diablo II. Got her through to Act II in Nightmare and then bought TES: IV Oblivion over the weekend and am playing that now

So many games, nowhere near enough time…

Enjoy your hyper-drive GD, mate!

Syn

Luckily i don’t play HC  …yet

I’m actually going to replay D2 pretty soon here. Been having a craving.

Oblivion has always been one of my favorite games and i might need to replay that soon as well. Now i can use all the graphics enhancing mods that i could not before, along side with all the other mods i normally use. GL with your adventures through Cyrodiil mate

very nice desktop

Congrats on the new rig!

Always a great feeling.

And, I agree with you, first thing I’d do is toss in an SSD.

I’d recommend the 256GB Samsung 850 EVO for $90:

After that, say an AMD RX 480 4GB for $200:

Lastly, double your RAM to 16GB and swap out your FX-4300 for an FX-8350 for $160:

That’s a real solid upgrade path for the next 6-8 months or so…

HAVE FUN!!

Thanks man

Thanks for the input i appreciate it

I will look into all that hardware. glad you use newegg as well because that is normally where i get all my stuff as is.

I think i might need to grab some more wiring as even though it has room for 3 Hard drives i only have enough wires for 2, so that will be my first purchase. then its the SSD, RAM, GPU, then CPU.

Again thanks guys
