I would love to see this one in the next expansion.
I am sure you have thought about it already. It would be great if the multi-class ability could be taken to the next level, where the skills you select in one class can be combined with a skill in another class.
E.g. having a Demolitionist Flame Touched skill could combine with the soldiers Forcewave skill to make it a “Burning Wave” skill. I understand this is quite some work, but it would be really cool.
This could be automatically when you have both skills or both at a certain level (e.g. their highest level). Or it could be a skill modifier that only comes up when you have both skills and you have to pay skill points to get this next level.
I must have not explained what I am looking for very well or we have some other understanding. For me the devotion skills are a bit like an other flexible class with a focus on boni + some skills. What I am talking about is a planned ability to combine skills, where the combination creates new effects beyond what either skill could achieve individually.
The conversion mechanic will causes Forcewave to hit with fire damage if you stack enough conversion and the enemies will ignite with Burn damage as well.
Visually though yeah not really that much changes. I do like the idea. But it could be simplified with only a select few skills.
For example a fourth tab will automatically appear with the “Dual Class Name” eg “Commando”
When you click on it you’ll see 3 - 4 new skills or bonuses to skills which require a combination of skills to activate.
Eg
Magma Charge - Requires “Vindictive Flame + Blitz+Shield” to unlock.
Modifies Blitz to a channelled skill which consumes energy whilst leaving a trail of fire in it’s wake. Will be only able to charge past non-knockdown immune enemies. Will continue to damage knockdown immune enemies until skill is either disrupted or energy is drained.
Honestly. That’s just one example. It’s a lot of bloody work to implement a system like this. Do-able sure. But very time consuming.
It shouldn’t be used to bring more power, but to create more builds. For instance it could just be a skill that converts 50% of Vitality damage to Aether damage or something.
What about “Posion damage deals 50% more damage if the target is bleeding” or “Targets take 500% more cold damage if stunned” just stuff like that as an example.
Good idea, i loved the sinergy in Dragon Age Inquisition, it will make the game much more complex and will improve a lot the combat experience… i can imagine you using blitz then rending force like i used a lot with the dwarf or cruzader in DA!
