looks like a ton of fun. My best friend and I just started this morning – we’re both doing the same build. My only question, for now, is on how to get max damage on Word of Pain via the weapon – i.e. what rolls am I looking for while shopping? Word of Pain does fire damage, but when I equipped a +fire damage% axe I noticed no difference in the ticks on the training dummy. Thanks in advance.
Word of Pain does not deal weapon damage. It will benefit from %damage bonuses only. So you want %elemental/fire damage bonuses in your weapon.
Thanks, Mondaqueras. So, the ticks I see on the training dummy do not reflect +fire damage? As I said I changed a weapon and put Word of Pain on the dummy and my damage did not change even with the new weapon having a fire% increase.
You can be certain that it is increasing its damage but probably not significantly, especially considering that WoP is not fully a fire damage skill but more of an tri-elemental damage skill.
Also, if you are low level the bonus dmg from gear is not that big anyways. The most efficient way to boost your damage is just rushing guardians for their RR and getting Aura of censure.
