New Nightblade: Witch Hunter, Saboteur or Spell Breaker?

Hi all,

Just bought the game and playing with a couple of friends. I am stuck on a secondary for my nightblade.

I’m trying to build it around the highest capable damage (big numbers!) in melee.

I understand the game does not allow respeccing secondaries so just wanted to get a updated and informed suggestion from you!

Thanks very much for any input.

Saboteur with firestrike or trickster with savagery are both solid choices!

For melee, I wouldn’t go Spellbreaker. It’s doable, but it shines better as a Phantasmal Blade build.

Witch Hunter is an odd bird in that you need to debuff before attacking to get the most damage, plus it has the least defensive options.

I’d recommend Trickster, Saboteur, or Blademaster for high damage and good defense.

My Nightblade was focused on cold damage so I went Spellbreaker for the few buffs to cold that class gives.

I am able to solo and carry all though Ultimate with no issues. Takes about 40 seconds to beat the toughest of bosses.

Another cold Spellbreaker here, into Act 4 HC Ultimate and its been easy going the whole way.

This used to all be true, but after B31 and various devotion changes, I would say melee Spellbreaker > PB spellbreaker, Witch Hunter now has very good survivability with the damage absorb on Posession and Blood of Dreeg + the raven. All classes need some degree of resistance debuff on Ultimate to keep up their DPS.

Anymore feedback would be greatly appreciated!

Saboteur is very flavour of the month at the moment and also very good in this game build! Just put lots of points in to the Fire Stike & Dual wield line with other points as you feel you need in other skills such as Pneumatic Burst, Flame Touched, Vindictive Flame & Blast Shield

Very easy to gear as well…I am playing a ‘self-found’ Saboteur atm, currently lvl 60 using mostly lvl 50 faction vendor gear and a few random epics and still using Sanctuary relic that I made at lvl 18!
