Will this upcoming update work with a modded game?

Unlikely until the mod itself is updated.
If you have any modifications to the gameengine.dbr you will have to update it.

The mod author has said that it will be updated for 1.2. He expressed his concerns over the multitude of changes made so needs some time to make sure it’s seamless. ie: level and enemy scaling no longer needing to be a thing. I would pause updates on steam if you must play with it.
I’m so afraid I will lose this character. Took me a while to get him to level 100.
You will not lose the character.
Thank goodness I can still play him. But so much has changed and I have to do a lot of reading to get it all down.
