Newbie Question - When change to Elite is advised?

Hello!
Today, after a long journey trying out different builds, I finally finished the first part of the game and now Malmouth is available, as well Elite difficulty.
I would like to know what is the general guideline (if there is one) on how to proceed now. Should I start Elite or complete the whole game on Normal/Veteran and then re-do on Elite?

P.S: I’m playing a S&B Warlord, currently at lvl 53.
Thank you!

For a first playthrough I’d say do the expansion on Normal and then move up. That way you unlock new factions so you can start gaining rep with them and also you see what might cause you problems later on.

Thanks @medea_fleecestealer. Thinking that way makes a lot of sense (I was leaning to start the Elite already ).

I personally beat all content in normal difficulty, find some good gear to cover my resistances/stats and then move to elite. Usually that’s around level 65.

Then I play mostly the regular game on elite, doing quest line/bounties up until level 85 and start Ultimate. The reason is you can use some level 84 gear that can help you.

I would also say normal or veteran do all main story quests for all factions. You will want that reputation, it really helps hit honoured asap so you can buy writs for all factions so main quests give much more rep in later difficulty

My standard advice is to do all campaigns on both normal and elite if it’s your first time. That way you’ll accumulate decent amount of faction reputation. Time saved when skipping campaigns on normal is just time spent grinding reputation later on.

I think it depends on. If this is your first character then play the game in normal to 100%. The game has such a nice story and so many detailed “corners” that you should discover them all. Just a stop and a zoom in is something that should be done sometimes.

To play it again in Veteran Mode is not really necessary in my opinion. But it is just my opinion…

The best way to start Elite Modus, is if you have a good amount of resistances. That is what I think. Because you can spent hours for farming better gear in order to start Elite. But Elite will give you much more chances to get better gear.

So to summarize it: Start Elite as fast as you can, but check your resistances. These are important in my opinion.

Thank you all!

Since it’s my first playthrough I will complete the whole game first at Veteran. It will give more knowledge and reputation for the Elite playthrough.

Yeah, I understood your point, but I expressed my self poorly. I play on Veteran already, I do not intend to play on Normal and then re-play it on Veteran.

You wouldn’t be able to since Veteran is just a slightly harder Normal. It’s not a separate difficulty. Once you complete one or the other where’s no point in trying to do the other one since quests, etc, won’t reset. You can swap between the two, but you can’t complete Normal and then do Veteran and vice versa.

Yes exactly, I wasn’t clear on my first post. I already play on Veteran. I never intended to play on normal and then on veteran
