Newer than Old

I picked this game up the other week and it’s fantastic.

I have a lvl 40 blademaster, 39 pyro and a 36 warlock. I had a witchblade but he died at lvl 19 cause I got cocky / stupid and killed by rocks from those rock troll dudes in act 2. So, my other witchblade is at lvl 14 at the moment.

The one thing I’d like to see is for each class to feel more unique. Just a little. I feel a choice between 2 skills once you’ve chosen your second mastery (or even hit lvl 30) can add to the variety a little more. So far I’m not feeling very different on my witchblade compared to my blademaster. Sure, it has some different skills but the way it plays feels the same. Some kind of class-only skill would open it up a bit more and make it feel more unique, rather than cherry picking skills to create a build (which is great, too).

In any case, loving the game - a lot.

Wow, I like this idea.
I very much agree with your post.

So, let’s brainstorm a little, ignoring the fact that this feature might not be implemented into the game. What would the skills be, and where would the option appear on the skill tree? When would it show up (level 10, 20, 30? When you reach 25 mastery in both skill trees?)

I wonder tho, if in the case of both the Blademaster and the Witchhunter, are you tending toward Nightblade skills more heavily in both cases?

Just wondering because when I play a Witchhunter vs. Blademaster I tend to go heavily with Occultist skills with the Witchhunter and heavier with Nightblade skills with the Blademaster.

It’s a totally different feel and style, with the Witchhunter being a more frenetic style of play, more skills being utilized.

Note: I most often play both fully melee except for component skills to round out some extra AoE, which will make life FAR easier for you in the early game, btw. I tend to favor the Fire and Poison Bombs the most. Great CC those two.
