Nightbringer et al Need A Drop Chance Boost

Well, well, well, turns out getting the Prime ring is now a lot easier, as is getting Magi rings too. But Nightbringer? 3hrs of farming, not a single drop. Chest? Only 1, ever. Shoulders now 2. Drop rates for the other set pieces are a bit better, but require clearing the whole 2nd map leading to the boss to get a good chance. Though in comparison to everything else, feel a lot easier to farm.

So roughly, I think it’s going to take easily another +4hrs to get Nightbringer to drop at it’s 4.8% current drop rate. Which frankly is approaching the sort of grind that drives me into ADHD burnout. May even just make a dedicated speed running build to target Rings/Shoulders, Chest and Nightbringer.

But yeah, for most people outside of those with the dedication/addiction/freetime to farm this? It’s going to place Nightbringer and Morg set builds outside of their ability to get. Thus drop chance should be normalised at 10%, like the Prime ring is. Especially since Nightbringer has conversion ranging from 40-60% and so needs sometimes to be farmed to near 60%.

Something that probabilistically may very well take a couple of hundred hours due to the current low drop chance vs RNG.

Could be worse, could be as bad as some of Destiny 2’s catalysts, particularly the PVP ones, but this is a ARPG, not an MMO :stuck_out_tongue:

I think the current drop rates for this and stuff like Alkamos rings are about right. The items are rare enough to feel like a chase but common enough that you will get them within a few hours.

Of course, a small tweak wouldn’t hurt - these things don’t need to be set in stone - but 10% seems too much to me. Hard to keep all players happy over this kind of thing.

Btw, I especially like farming TotH because of the very high chance that Kaisan will show up, so there is a chance of another very desirable non-SR drop from him. I think Crate should look at making some of the new nemesis’ MIs non-SR also. A long farm is much more enjoyable if there are extra, random goodies you can get along the way.

A bad luck protection system would be good, because if unlucky you could spend weeks farming it and not drop
