Nightbringer player-scaled pets Archon

Hey all,
Been here awhile, but only now finally found the spare time to post a couple of my favorite builds. I’ve really liked the idea of player-scaled pets ever since I came across this one by @Contragor. And then I found out Wind Devils are finally permanent (never thought that would happen! Thanks Crate), and here is the result. Does SR 30-31 easily; SR 36 is fine as long as you’re careful, but I’ve never managed SR 38 (somehow Moosil always shows up, and I just can’t get past him on that level). Callagadra is notably easy. Mogdrogen is straightforward enough, though the pets get in the way. Ravager was a pain, probably because Of Souls is just bad for this build because the summons eventually make it a bullet hell to get through. Did it once and don’t care to repeat for a video.

Stormy OA DA

As you can see, the build is spread a little thin–hardly any skill is hard-capped; CC resistances aren’t super, but it works pretty well overall. The basic playstyle is cast Storm Totem, throw Devouring Swarm & Solael’s Flame, kite. Between that and all the nice Nightbringer weapon + set procs, a decent quantity of damage gets thrown around. Vire’s Might + mobility rune helps stay out of trouble range. It’s still pretty squishy, but the main point here is avoid getting hit.

Equipment & Skills:

Core:

  • Nightbringer weapon is pretty much key for the WInd Devil extra spawns and Vitality conversion, plus global Acid & Elemental to Vit conversions.
  • Morgoneth set adds nice Wind Devil bonuses, piercing conversion (a serious upgrade for Bat, mostly), and more Hungering Energies procs.
  • Lunal’Valgoth belt completes the elemental conversion; this gets Maelstrom as well as the Cold component of Hungering Energies to full Vit.
    Optional:
  • Halakor amulet makes Storm Totems really worth it: you summon 2 at once, and get 4 concurrent ones. Originally used the Blood Knight amulet for the more thematic extra summons, but they are really more geared toward Bleeding than Vit, I think. Still an option, but I think Halakor gets me better damage output.
  • Rings, medal and relic are mostly there to get me up to 3 Guardians; either relic or medal could be swapped out without losing a Guardian.
  • Pants are Lightning, but contribute 4 skill points to Wind Devils.
Devotions:

Pretty standard Vitality loadout: Rattosh, Dying God, Wendigo, Bat, Revenant.
The Acid & Elemental conversion means you could invest in Acid devotions; I’ve tried swapping Dying God and Wendigo for Scorpoin Sting, full Abomination, and Dryad: higher DPS for sure (at least as tested on dummies), but sacrifices both DA and OA, and requires managing a lot more active skills.

Videos:

I’m sure this could be improved–let me know if anything stands out!
