Where is your My Documents folder on your PC?
on my disk C and the game on disk D
Where on C though? Is it in OneDrive by any chance?

Then that’s likely what’s causing the problem. Move the My Documents folder elsewhere and disable/uninstall OneDrive. It tends to hi-jack that folder for reasons known only to itself and screws up on saving games.
