Sometimes slaughtering works, and sometimes it doesn’t. Have a four-cow herd set and slaughter when it reaches three or four. No dice. Now it’s a 6/4 herd and bound to get bigger every year. Reloading the game does not fix this. Rebuilding the barn has fixed it once.
I have had this happen to me also but not for some time. Now as soon as I build the barn and even before I put cows into it I set the herd size. I haven’t had that issue since. It use to drive me crazy and using slaughter didn’t seem to work some times when this happened.
Make sure your storages aren’t full. If any of the three things from slaughtering is full and can’t go anywhere, they won’t slaughter.
Thanks… next question lol… there’s no way to select what’s stored in the barn or not (like some other buildings) so I assume just having a storage building nearby will suffice to get the lazy ass herders to move stuff somewhere else?
The problem is when there is no place to move it. So if there is no place to put tallow, hides, or meat… if one of them can’t be put elsewhere, the whole thing stops.
I built a storage building next door to the barn and stuff started moving over there and slaughtering started which is fine BUT!!! there was already a storage building not far from the barn.
Do you have only one herder?
four herders. one drinks a lot lol
