First time playing, so how do I use addiional skills chosen if there are only 2 allowed/hotkeyed?

There are not only 2 allowed. You can put as many on the LMB/RMB/hotkeys as you can fit in. What skills are you talking about exactly?
I mean there are many skills but only two hot keys (as you mention LMB and RMB) so once I have maxed out two skills what is the point in learning another as I can not use it without swapping it out for another? Unless I have it wrong.
Example in other games like this you can hot keys 1 to 9 on the keyboard for example so you can choose from any spells/skill on the fly.
And you can put skills on the hotkeys in GD too. Just right click on a hotkey and add the skill you want.

You have 2 hotkey bars so can swap between them as well.
The game literaly has a tutorial pop-up that explains how to assign skills. I guess dev team’s work was in vain, then?
