I modified my build to something below, moving some points from Curse of Frailty into Bone Harvest and Soul Harvest.
The trade-off is that you have to stay fairly close to bosses to land Bone Harvest and keep the buffs active, and it adds a few more key presses to the rotation.
Aside from that, the build is identical to the original version.

If you want max power, I would rank Conjurer to be the best option in terms of both early game comfort and lategame strength.
Also, this particular setup explores a specific type of pet build - one where you explode your pets on purpose to deal damage. Considering that on most setups you want them to survive as long as possible, this is in a sense, subversion of the usual.
I also do not have a proper budget setup for pet cabalist atm, so there is also that.
But, it is both a strong and fun build. It is not difficult to play and may actually feel closer to non pet builds in a sense. So, if you want to use it as a starting point, I see no reason why not.

I kind of stopped doing that for non budget builds, mostly because I keep changing setups and it became kind of hard to keep track of all the saves…

It would be lovely if you could provide me a copy of your toon of this Bath bombs build. Already got a Ghol Cabalist myself, but don’t want to invest the time respec-ing it.
