OA - chance to hit

I am currently showing 100% chance to hit on OA but DA showing chance to hit 76% - I’m curious as I found on google these stats affect “accuracy” right but I am missing a fair bit of the attacks. Currently levelling with forcewave and unsure if skills have their own chance to hit or if that 76% DA is affecting the 100% OA and if so could someone dumb it down for this newb? Like should I ditch some DA and try get that to round the same level? Thanks.

You’re misreading the DA - it says “chance to BE hit 76%”. OA is your chance to hit enemies, DA is their chance to hit you.

your hit rating isn’t a constant, it’s per individual enemy where your OA gets checked against their DA, tooltip shows your chance against last enemy you hit on OA and last enemy that hit you on DA
(can easily be misleading if last in/out enemy blow was a low trash mob but 1sec prior it was a boss you fought)
besides that there is extra stuff like dodge/deflect/fumble/impair that can cause certain attacks to not always land

Ah yeah you’re right I did misread the DA lol - ok so yeah that OA sounds really unhelpful tbh and haha just killed the warden king again and it was 98.5% “supposedly”

Anyways thank you both for clarification, appreciate it!

OA and DA is a bit weird because, as @Gnomish_Inquisition pointed out, it depends on the enemy in front of you.

Maybe 1500 DA is enough for most enemies to barely graze you, but it would be extremely poor against stronger bosses.

When you hover over OA and DA, it also says which enemy it is calculated against. So if you just fought the warden and it showed its name and 98.5%, it means you were basically sure to hit him.
Having more OA can be critical for… well, critical hits. Everything above 90% chance to hit is your chance to crit, so against the warden you had 8.5% chance to crit.

Having quite some DA will soon become essential against bosses, as a single crit from them can send you from full health to “oh crap” mode instantly.

Not really weird, it’s just consistent with how strong the enemy is.
