Oathkeeper leveling

Hey, I’m currently level 47, just playing through on Normal as my first playthrough. Playing Oathkeeper with Vyre’s Might and Judgement providing all of my damage. Currently I’m using a 1h/shield, no reason other than that’s providing the most fire/burn damage at the moment.

Questions are:
Are there any items that are guaranteed drops that I should have now/get asap to make leveling efficient?

I’m at 761% fire dmg and 450% burn dmg, should I be aiming for anything else as I level?

I’m pretty sure my devotion point allocation is reasonably well spent so no questions there.

What is the go with the Aether fire areas that are clearly a test of (I assume) a resistance?
And finally, I’ve only spent points into Oathkeeper so far, is there a best/good second mastery to invest in to support this playstyle?

Thanks.

Aetherfire does life reduction damage, of which there are very few sources of resistance. Just take the shortest path through it, don’t linger and be ready to pop a hp pot

No guaranteed drops in this game, though some bosses/heroes/Nemesis might have good items to farm for.

Armour absorption helps with Aetherfire, but otherwise just run through it as fast as you can have have a finger hovering over your health potion key.

Soldier would be a good second mastery or if you want more fire options Demolitionist.

Ok, thanks for the info. Just have to keep plodding along it sounds.

Do you bother much with aiming for resistance gear? Particularly during a normal playthrough.

A lot of people say not really for normal difficulty, but I like to have at least some.

He wanted a GOOD second mastery, and that’s not demolitionist.
jokes aside, for fire, Inquisitor or Demolitionist are probably the best.

@Medea Armor absorption helps against aetherfire? I didn’t think life reduction was reduced by Armor.

That’s what I read a while back. Since I rarely have any I can’t say whether that’s true or not. :undecided:

Resistance check (harder for each difficulty indeed). You’ll need all your resistances capped at Ultimate but each act has its main damaging area you should be careful about.
Act 1 (till Warden): Poison (elemental, aether)
Act 2 (till Cronley): Fire (pierce/bleeding)
Act 3 (till Amalgamation): Aether (pierce, poison)
Act 4 (till Karroz): Vitality (chaos)
Act 5 (till Loghorrean) : Aether (vitality/chaos)
Act 6 (till Master of Flesh): Aether (everything)
Act 7 (till Korvaak): Everything

With Oathkeeper, Vire’s Might is very good for trash clearing. You can add also Judgment and/or Aegis of Menhir. All green items that have a mod for these skills are very good while leveling.

Inquisitor is my first suggestion,Demo is also good, even Occultist to a degree.Inquisitor will offer instant RR from censure, damage reduction, heal, permanent absorption from Seal, etc.

Aetherfire is affected by damage absorption, for sure not armor.Best way is if you have circuit breaker and especially healing skill and potion combo.

There are some guaranteed drops. Like “totally normal shield” (mace) and Fettan Mask.

And good greens too, for instance, impossible not to get at least one living ring in AoM or Scarab shield in FG part.

There are multiple greens with easy access,if you don’t need specific affixes. For example there us hero, that have 100% drop chance of groble effigy with extra summon to storm totem.
