Offensive skills don't work when mouse is over allies!

This is easily the most frustrating thing to me while playing Grim Dawn with friends. If your mouse cursor is over a friendly unit, such as another player, or friendly NPC, you are unable to use any offensive skills. If you are playing multiplayer with a ranged build, this is extremely annoying. Often I can’t even get a single spell in during a battle because my 3 friends with melee builds are right next to the enemies, and their characters are constantly under my mouse cursor as I try to attack. In fact, you can’t even use Wendigo Totem to help allies with your mouse hovering over them. It’s very annoying. This has always been the case as long as I have been playing the game. Would you guys please consider changing this?

Try enabling Classic Targeting in the game options. If that option is disabled you stop shooting as soon as your cursor is over an ally, but when it’s enabled you keep shooting. It still won’t let you start shooting when your cursor is over an ally but it should at least mitigate the issue a little bit.

using Force Move button while attacking/casting also allows this (without switching to classic targeting/using target lock)
*it’s in keybinds settings, (i don’t remember the default button since i changed mine to Ctrl)

I appreciate the tips! Since the biggest frustration is getting the mouse cursor to highlight an enemy, instead of the friendly units standing next to it, the classic targeting trick is difficult to use. However, I did find the Force Move button to work well, since the mouse will no longer highlight friendly units while pressed. Still, that means that I have to hold down another key while using skills, like Ctrl-1, Ctrl-2, etc, just to make certain they actually activate.

Honestly, I don’t see any benefit or point to the skills not being able to activate on friendlies. It’s not like you can hurt your friends anyway. And as mentioned, in the case of Wendigo Totem, you can’t even use it to heal friends until you move the mouse off of them. In the heat of battle, I don’t want to worry about positioning my mouse on the exactly correct location so my skill will work.

I mean, it should be a pretty simple thing to patch, right? Maybe one line of code? I’m curious to know if this is something the devs would consider.
