Offensive skills duration - spread dmg or refreshed?

Hi, so I’ll take Fissure for example, on a single target. If it announces 160-198 fire and 328 burn dmgs for 2s, with 5s skill duration :

Are those spread over 5s? (32-40 fire every second and 328 burn over 2s)

Are those refreshed? (160-198 fire and 164 burn every second)

In the second case, does cast speed influence the refresh time?

What fissure does is shoot out a number of projectiles (depends on level how many) which each deal the listed damage. It shoots these out every second, for five seconds. The individual projectiles deal an amount of flat damage, and each projectile can hit the same target if you place the fissure just right, resulting in a quite brutal shotgun effect. The burn part is slightly different, while it’s active a new hit will only refresh the duration of the burn, not add another one.

  • On one standing target, Whirmpool will do the listed cold dmg every second for 6 seconds, and half the listed frostburn dmg every second for 6 seconds?

  • With Elemental Seeker, 1 Seeker will do the listed flat elemental dmg every second and explode after 3s?

And just to be sure, the casting speed bonuses don’t affect that?

Haven’t used seekers but on whirlpool, you’re right on flat dmg. For frostburn it will do half of listed frostburn dmg per second for 2 seconds (plus increased duration of you have any) but the duration will be refreshed every second as long as the target is standing in the whirlpool.

Oh that’s great, it’s much easier to compare their efficiency then.
