don’t like this potion system. When I buy this game it was old style arpg. Looking for potion store them, bing happy when finding bigger one for boss battles was enjoyable. In game there is classic style casting options but where is classic style potions?. I don’t want this diablo 3 shitshow system and I hate it. Give us back our classic potion collecting system (yes even it clutter inventory) or give us back our money.
Here’s a genuine question for you: what the fuck are you actually complaining about? What do you think changed with potions besides them not being in the inventory anymore?
if collecting endless health potions are somehow that important you can play v 1.1.9.8, devs left it officially available on the game branch
I thoroughly enjoy the fact that you speak as a normal person, as opposed to all the HR approved distilled shit we would usually see in official communications from other companies.
It is AN ITEM NOT A SKILL. If you use last of it you run or die. Prepare before battles. Do you think combat medics can do much without medkits? or conjure it from thin air when they need it? I like old style it give off as I love d2 but hate D3. Also I tried old build it crashes everytime I click start game.
here crash report that I can’t send to report server.

this argument was treaded through when v1.2 released
the cliff notes are, potions were effectively infinite in GD, all they did was take up space in your inventory, you never ran out and only unloaded to merchant/stash/drop on floor to clear room because you got thousands upon thousands.
You got free ones right at the beginning from every corpse or stump, you could buy infinite amount of potions from merchants for the cheapest price out of any sold item.
To most people they were simply a hassle and effectively no different now (since you could always hotkey them only change is icon moved location)
there is also no heal amount difference, they heal the same amount they did before, and there were no version alterations/ only 1 HP/Mana pot variant in GD and no bigger type health potions for boss fights (unsure where you got that idea from)
v1.2++ saves are not backwards compatible with 9.8, just like v1.3++ is not with 1.2, so you need to move your save files out of save folder
It is still an item not a skill it suppose to be clutter. Immersion breaking like that never good. Also I spend so much time on my chars and now you expect me start from zero? No thank you. Instead adding option in game menu allow us play old style while updated chars not go to trashbin or they should backward compatible if they give the option.
No. You’re not owed that. You want 1.1.9.8 features? Play 1.1.9.8.
You want 1.2+ features? Play 1.2+
You don’t get to pick and choose features a la carte and screech for your money back if you don’t get precisely what you want, and regardless, 1.1.9.8 IS what you paid for as it was the completed/final content delivery of FG iirc. Needy little egomaniacs like you were the reason that 1.1.9.8 is still supported at all, so you could still play the game with all original features, but hey, nothing’s ever enough, is it.
Ah yeah, we really ruined the immersive realism when we took away the thousands of potions in your character’s bottomless pockets.
You’re about 3 years too late on this one.
Wait a sec.
Does it mean that all the balance patches since then are also not reflected? SO the entire game is in the state it was then?
So I could play all the old builds in their full glory?
Yes, it’s frozen in time.
I actually don’t understand what you are wining about.
If potion are infinite why does it matter.
From that infinite standpoint, It is litterally futile, whether the potions exist as an item or not.
I would understand your point of view if at least potions were harder to get in a survival arpg.
At best, in the old system, you though a litle bit about potions while lvling, especially for the energy potions.
I bet that most people are excited about the upcoming cauldron potion system
Potions management was never a thing. They were too cheap at the vendors and dropped too often from enemies and loot containers.
Really, all they did was take up space in the inventory.
No /10char
Potions always had a dedicated hotkey, but in the old system (on top of just cluttering your inventory) you had to add the potions to your hotbar if you wanted to have a visual aid for its cooldown (effectively, wasting hotbar space and having 2 hotkeys for the same action).
How someone could want to go back to that is beyond me, reads as rage bait to be honest.
That’s a good point and I must admit that it was hard for me to go from Diablo to this style, but I adapted and don’t necessarily miss it. I like both styles equally, if I were expected to choose one. And I agree that it might seem more realistic with actual “consumables”, but the current style is strategic too, it makes you be more careful because you can’t always heal yourself.
Because hauling 7000 bottles on your character is so realistic…
Someone could make a mod that makes using potions consume iron.
