Option to hide helmet!

that would be awesome, feels more immersive imo to have the option to see my character’s face.

but all the characters in this game have essentially the same face.

That doesn’t matter camera is too far away to see detail anyway. Would be nice to turn on and off the bucket

Then there is no point in having an ON/OFF hide helmet option.

But really, without any kind of facial/hair customization, this option is just useless when every character looks the same.

I disagree completely lol. The helmets all look like buckets toons look cooler without em

On the contrary, whether or not the PCs face is custom or stock is completely and utterly irellevant. I dont hide helmets in skyrim because I want to stare at my fabulous face all the time, though I do that too but thats neither here nor there. Fact is, I don’t like the look of helmets. Your argument is on the same level as the ones that keep saying graphics doesn’t matter, newsflash, for some it does.

It is an optional feature, so people that do like buckets and… spiked buckets, it will do naught more to your game than adding a tick box in your options menu which is perfectly fine to ignore for all of eternity. for people that neither like buckets, nor spiked buckets, we do not have to.

If this tickbox and the few extra bits of code/database entries added to the game make you feel like the game is now horrible because the the devs doesn’t only cater to your needs, or lack thereof, then well, I don’t care.

Now, do keep in mind I do not necessarily mean you, mr. person I quoted.

tl;dr There are no good reasons in this world for this not to be a feature. Why is there even an argument, wth.

How very vain.

Have you considered…removing the helmet? If seeing your character’s fuzzy head is so important, surely you can do away with such helmets anyway, right?

In fact, why do we even have the item type to begin with? Seems like its causing more problems than its solving.

I’ve bolded the part of your quote that is the real problem here. If you dislike the look of the helmets, then the look of the helmets can be improved. But every time someone suggests “oh, just make it an OPTION that can be changed” I die a little inside. Such things are not easy to implement, despite what you may think.

And graphics don’t matter. If GD looked like PoEshit but played as it does, I’d still play the hell out of it.

actually there are two

  • it makes no sense to add it since everyone looks exactly the same without a helmet
  • adding it requires effort

together they are a TKO

By your logic I could also demand to add a few racetracks and cars. As it is optional to use them there apparantly is no good reason not to…

This is the first game in a long time I don’t really care about my character wearing a helmet, why? Because there is no character customization so it doesn’t bother me and I actually like a lot of the helms in this game, they fit nicely.

That being said, there should be an option, but I guess Crate decided to not include one for more authenticity or something.

Don’t worry someone will mod this, maybe an invisible dye potion or something.

Only if we also get a patch for cosmetic values, like even the most basic character editor and maybe item transmutation, to make one item look like another.

It really sucks when you wear parts of like 3 sets that all clash, or just clashing items in general (Fanatic’s Overcoat I’m looking at you). That is a much bigger pet peeve because god do some items clash to wear together.

lol wow… you sound very pissed at my previous statement… way to blow it out of the water

I never said I’m against it, which your whole text seems to be implying, but I don’t see a reason for it to be a thing, since we don’t have any character facial customization…

You mentioned Skyrim, but you’re comparing a game with a complex character customization options with Grim Dawn, a game that you can barely even zoom the camera in close enough to see the same indetic face on all your characters, so why do we need an option like this in the first place? Are you gonna spend your playtime looking at the same identic face on all of your characters? What is so great in that?

So you see, for this option to be even relevant and useful for the game, first we need at least some level of facial customization for it to be relevant, or else, it’s just a waste of time…

TL DR: I’m not against it the idea, but it’s pointless to add it right now without having at least some facial customization options available, and you can use caster head gears if you really want to keep seeing the same identic head on all of your 172613918 characters so bad.
