Our feedback regarding patch 1.0.0.8

Greetings Crate and Community Members around the world::smiley:

In the community in Spanish, we have taken the opportunity to share our opinions after the last patch 1.0.8 and we would like to share it with you and hear your opinions about it.

Please do not view this as a criticism, we love Grim Dawn and we want to get involved in its ongoing development and help improve it.

  • Epic TIER is very abandoned and getting a legendary full version is very easy for players who have been around for a long time in Grim Dawn. We believe that it is necessary to give a push to these objects (green) and to reach other types of constructions without needing to demand great amount of legendary.

  • We have noticed an increase (quite large) in the damage per second of the demolishers.

  • The pure meeles are very touched, the tanks have not seen much damage their endurance and the casters are still the worse class (we want it to be improved).

-So many legendaries we did not like it, since several patches were introduced new sets legendary and quite green. It seems that epic objects have fallen into oblivion and is a real pity.

  • There are enemies that withstand the elemental damage too much.

  • Damage of the fat bosses or nemesis, we continue to notice that even if you go well of resistance, they continue killing of a lightning or blow or a crush.

We look forward to comments from the Crate community and staff.

Best Regards!

Epic items serve a purpose as something for more casual players to aspire for within a reasonable time-frame. They drop frequently and are an excellent stepping stone to harder content.

It is perfectly ok for dedicated players to eventually want to replace Epics after farming enough Legendaries/double-Rares. Even so, some Epics remain viable for specific needs even among the Legendaries.

Which monsters are demolishers?

You would have to be more specific here. Overall, I’m not sure casters are in a particularly bad place after 1.0.0.8 changes.

Sounds like perhaps you need more Defensive Ability?

Demolitionists, to which the increase in dps is likely on account of Explosive Strike now being factored into sheet dps.

Thank Zantai for you answers.

No is my particular case, is a general case for spanish community. One option would be to decrease the resistance level of the nemesis.

If you mean Demolitionist class and Nightblade Class then apparently DPS calculation mechanics were changed recently. So it’s a display thing

Pure Melee is very touched?

Casters are not the worst, they never were the worst.

Tanks have not seen much damage?

Epic items are meant to serve as intermediates for BiS so they’re fine the way are.

This has been around before this patch, it’s dependent on build and has got less to do with the patch.

Casters are always the worst for me too. By saying “Worst” does not mean they can’t do ultimate or gladiator crucible sure they do but it just means their builds require more effort. Effort means specific gear dependancy and survivability.

Please do not misunderstand me:

It is obvious that casters like the arcanist will have less endurance, but it is that it would simply seem impossible to complete the game on legendary difficulty with one.

I edited my post. I agree with you. My word usage confused you, sorry

You sure about that? Cause casters can be pretty bad-ass if built right. Problem is no one seems to understand the importance of defense stacking

Actually what I think they’re referring to is that the item progression is fine/acceptable to about level 40 and then between 40 and 70/75 it just seems stale… with not a lot of variety and decent upgrades. Then empowered epics and legendaries starting coming into play and variety goes up again.

You just might not have enough items/variety in that mid-range.

Dejnov.

I still don’t understand how people say casters are bad and cant complete the game.

BWC
Quick Jacks
Phantasmal Blades
Callidor’s Tempest
Dreegs Evil Eye
FW Tremor
Panetti’s Replicating Missle
Sigil of Consumption

All these skills can be your main damage source and complete the game’s story content quite easy. Sure some of them will need to do some farming to do games hardest content easily, but that goes the same for melee and ranged also.

^

Also, Winter King’s Might.

I didnt add that or Obsidian Tremor as you can’t use them until late game and only if you have the item

I read Tremor and thought it was Tremor from Obsidian Juggernaut. Only noticed the FW before it now. My bad.

But i still would count them both even if you can only get them later in the game.

I’m working on a build with Dreegs Evil Eye and so far HC normal is a walk in the park. Got to a farm spot when I was lvl 27 and the mobs and bosses where around 34/35 and they died so quick it was almost a joke. For Elite I might want to get some more resictences but for normal its easy

Generally we don’t use performance on normal as a measure whether build is good or not. Even the ability to complete HC ultimate is not a measure. I completed HC ultimate two times by now but none of my characters could reliably farm nemesis bosses or complete Crucible above Aspirant.

Good luck with your HC experience. :stuck_out_tongue:

Hehe yea i’m kinda new to the game so maybe not the best reference hehe. But thanks so far HC is cool (:

I agree to this at some extent. The buffing of the empowered epics was great and also some top tier epics (the covanent set for instance).
I especially find these items good for hardcore where loosing your charecter is a risk and it pays off stashing some of the good items for later use.

Its much harder to aquire a full set of the legendary gear if you play selfound - as an example I just had my second set after 800h of playtime, and I even traded a bit (2 pieces to complete them).

I agree about bosses and nemesises
they deals too much a burst damage.

And I don’t even think about going melee now
